DLF Invitational League V - Application DEADLINE set!

Postby BradyT » Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:21 pm

A deadline has been set to apply for one of the open spots in this league. The deadline is: Thursday, July 15th, 4 p.m EST
A decision on who´s in will be made the same evening. Once a decision is made, we will let everybody know. The draft clock(12 hours max. for each pick) will start some time this upcoming saturday.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morning ladies!
Here we go with our by-laws, finished thanks to my fellow Commish Rick!! Thx again, Rick!

I wanna encourage everybody, who is interested in participating in league.. to send his application to Rick and me. A few lines about FF and IDP experience would help. Though before you apply for this league.. read the by-laws carefully and ask, if there are any points you wish to be enlighted about ;) If you apply and if you´re chosen to be a member of this league, you need to be serious about it :) do not apply if you´re "that" guy who quits on this league once his team is like the Oakland Raiders of the past few years... ;)

those who allready sent their applications of course dont need to do it again!

We will give you fellas some days to apply and then I´ll announce a deadline.

Here are the by-laws, read´em carefully!!!!
-----------------------------
DLF Invitational League V

This will be a free league! No money need to be paid

1 - League Organization
The DLF Invitational league V will be governed by the commissioners, Rick (rkrazy) and Merlin (BradyT).

All times given for deadlines or anything else will be in the eastern time zone unless otherwise stated.

2 - Teams/Divisions
The league will consist of 12 teams split into 4 divisions. The division alignment will remain the same each season.

3 - League Code of Conduct
Everyone is in this league to be a part of the ultimate competition. Keep that in mind when entering your lineups and trading. If it appears that an owner is not putting an optimum starting lineup forward to gain an advantage in draft placement, the situation will be dealt with and penalties could be as severe as loss of draft pick or removal from the league.

Everyone should be respectful of each other even during disagreements. Keep message board content reasonably clean and do not engage in negative trash talk. Trash talk is fine but use common sense and don’t cross any lines.

The Commissioners reserve the right to replace any owner deemed detrimental to the league for any reason.

4 - Roster Size
48 active players(all year around) and 5 injured reserve, no positional limits. All owners must maintain enough players to field a starting lineup each week.

Starting lineups:
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, 2 Flex (RB, WR, TE), PK, DL, DL, LB, LB, DB, DB, 2 IDP Flex (DL, LB, DB) - 17 total

Players lock individually at their scheduled game time.

5 - Scoring
Decimal scoring system, scoring includes all positions.

Passing
1 point for every 20 Passing yards (0.05 per)
2 points for every 2 Pt Conversion Passing
4 points for every Passing TD
-1 points for every Interception

Rushing
1 points for every 10 Rushing yards (0.1 per)
2 points for every 2 Pt Conversion Rushing
6 points for every Rushing TD
-1 point for every Fumble Lost

Receiving
1 point for every reception
1 points for every 10 Receiving yards (0.1 per)
2 points for every 2 Pt Conversion Receiving
6 points for every Receiving TD

Kicking
3 points for every FG of 1-30 yards
plus 0.1 points for every yard after
-1 point for every FG Missed
1 point for every XP
-1 point for every XP Missed

Defense
2 points for every Tackle
1 point for every Assist
5 points for every Interception
1 point for every 50 Interception return yards (0.02 per)
5 points for every Sack
3 points for every Fumble Forced
3 points for every Fumble Recovered
1 point for every 50 Fumble return yards (0.02 per)
2 points for every Safety
6 points for every Defensive TD
2 points for every Pass Defended

Returns
1 point for every 40 Kick Return Yards (0.025 per)
6 points for every Kick Return TD
1 point for every 20 Punt Return Yards (0.05 per)
6 points for every Punt Return TD

6 - Inaugural Draft
The inaugural draft is a 48 round snake draft that includes all players in one draft pool.

The draft order will be determined by the Commissioners through http://www.draft-tracker.com/draftOrder.cfm and will snake starting with round 2.

Draft is conducted on our league home page using MFL's live draft tool with each owner having a 12 hour time limit. The clock will begin to run at the time that the previous pick was posted.

Owners should use the pre draft option if they will not be online to make their pick before the timer expires. Like the NFL Draft, if you miss your pick the draft will proceed, but you may still make your pick at anytime.

7 - Subsequent Drafts
Each season there is a 7 round rookie/free agent draft involving all positions, which will officially begin at 12pm ET on the first Saturday in May. The draft is conducted on our league home page using MFL's live draft tool with each owner having a 12 hour time limit. The clock will begin to run at the time that the previous pick was posted.

The 48 man active roster is in effect. Teams may need to cut a player in order to add another thru the draft. Teams may also forfeit a draft selection to avoid cutting one of their current players.

Draft order will be in order of worst to first based on the previous year’s finish. All non playoff teams will receive draft positions 1-6 based on regular season record plus tiebreakers where necessary. All playoff teams will receive draft positions 7-12 based on playoff finish.

Like the NFL Draft, if you miss your pick the draft will proceed, but you may still make your pick at anytime. Having the clock expire on your pick twice in one draft without communicating to the league may be viewed as inactivity. We understand life happens. All we ask is that you treat the league with respect and keep us informed.

8 - Trades
Trading deadline is November 14, 2010 @ 12am ET (week 10). Trading period resumes on January 2.

There is no trade limit. All players and draft picks are able to be traded, including kickers and players on IR.

You may trade draft picks for up to two years.

Draft picks may be traded while on the clock.

All trades will be immediately processed. However the commissioners maintain the right to overturn any trade that is deemed detrimental to league integrity. If anyone has a strong objection to a trade they can raise it with the commissioners for review. All decisions by the commissioners are final.

9 - Injured Reserve
A player must be placed on the NFL IR to become eligible for IR spots as set on MFL.

Any player on IR at the end of the season must be removed by February 15th. The owner must either cut players on IR from their roster or cut an active player to make room on the 48 man roster. Once the deadline has passed any player still on IR will be cut from that team.

10 - Player Position Eligibility
All position eligibility will be determined by MFL. All in season changes by the league provider are final.

11 - Free Agency
In season free agency will utilize a 3 round waiver wire followed by FCFS (first come first serve). Waivers are processed on Wednesday's at 8pm ET.

Off season free agency begins after our annual 7 round draft is finished. Off season free agency is FCFS.

12 - Scheduling
The league will be organized into 4 divisions of 3 teams each. Each team will play their divisional opponents twice and every other team once. The schedule will be generated by MFL.

13 - Tiebreakers
Ties during regular season games count as ties.

Ties in playoff games are broken using the following "Sudden Death" criteria
a) Most touchdowns scored by offensive starters wins
b) Most combined total yards by offensive starters wins
c) Higher kicker points scored wins
d) Team with highest scoring IDP wins
e) Home team/higher seed wins

Ties in standings and playoff seeding
a) Overall winning percentage
b) Head-To-Head Record
c) Divisional Winning Percentage (applies only if division opponents are tied)
d) Total Points Scored
e) Virtual coin flip

Ties in draft order are broken using the following criteria (lower team in each case will get higher draft position)
a) Overall winning percentage
b) Head-To-Head record
c) Divisional winning percentage (applies only if division opponents are tied)
d) Total points scored during regular season
e) Virtual coin flip

14 - Playoffs
Playoffs will begin in Week 14 of the NFL season and will last for three weeks.
There will be six playoff teams, the four division champions and two wildcards teams.
The wildcard teams will be the two non-division champions with the best records.

I forgot to mention one thing about the draft:

We will start the draft more or less immediately once the 12 owners have been determined and the draft order is randomized.

For any prospective owner there is one problem with the posted bylaws. The division format does not have an automatic schedule generator available through MFL. We may change to 3 divisions of 4 teams or manually enter schedules or find another source (like FBG) to generate the schedule. We're not sure yet.

Update: We just agreed on keeping it with 4 divisions. This way everybody faces each team atleast once.

1 points for every 10 Receiving yards (0.1 per)

which is it?

im guessing .1 per yd :D . but i could be wrong. Simple clarification as some leagues will reward nothing for 9 yds.

No taxi squad. The compromise there is larger rosters and no mandatory roster cuts.

Good enough. Probably a dumb bleep question but cant hurt. More questions put out there , imo, the more likely people will feel OK to ask.

So fellas ...ask away....besides asking how many divisions there are--I doubt there can be a dumber question than what I just put out there.

Hey Rick and Merlin - well written and thorough bylaws by the way

I know how cumbersome and how much of a Pain in the A$$ it can be.

Been down that road a couple times.. always helps when you got a partner in crime in on it too.
