Tier break at 1.05

Postby People Mover » Mon Jan 02, 2017 2:08 pm

The top 4 is pretty much set in stone with a few guys swimming upstream with differing views. Who do you believe:

Is the 1.05
Belongs in the second tier of talent? How deep is the second tier?

McCaffery looks to have the edge in many places I have seen. Foreman could move up if he lands in a favorable situation. There are inconsistent reports about Mixon's intentions but last I'd heard, he was returning for another season. So who belongs at 1.05? JuJu? Ross? McCaffrey? Foreman? Do all of these players make up the second tier? Thoughts?

Sutton if he declares. Someone is bound to shoot up the rankings post combine.

TEs make up next tier after that?

Mccaffrey, Foreman, Juju & Ross could all be drafted there today for me. Their combine & landing spots are going to make it easier to decide...Hopefully. But if Sutton & Mixon declare I expect them all to make up that next tier. This class is so much more exciting than last years.

I have Isaiah Ford as my 1.05. Gets open at will, understands the finer points of playing WR, can win deep, can win intermediate. Reminds me some of Stefon Diggs with his detailed routes at a young age, but he's not as frequent a hands catcher as Diggs was. I think Ford is close to Corey Davis in the route running department, and looks as good coming out of his break as well. So, he's my 1.05 easily.

Obviously the combine will change things, but right now my second tier (if all declare) would probably be Sutton, Ross, Smith-Schuster, McCaffrey and then Foreman maybe a slight tick down from there.

So far:

Tier 1 (in no particular order)

Dalvin Cook
Leonard Fournette
Corey Davis
Mike Williams

Tier 2:

Christian McCaffrey
Ju Ju Smith Schuster
John Ross
Courtland Sutton

Maybe D'Onta Foreman and Isaiah Ford?

No TEs yet? There was talk of this being a historical class (TE). When do they creep into the picture?

I would put D'Onta Foreman in Tier 2. I really like OJ Howard and I think he's a great late 1st round fantasy pick but that would likely be a high Tier 3 player or maybe backend Tier 2 if he continues to show well in the championship game next week.

I had a tier break after 1.04. Then I watched a lot of John Ross tape...

Same, I love how he consistently plucks bullets out of the air on crossing routes away from his body then pulls it in and turns on the jets. I'm excited about this guy

The 1.05 will probably change 3-4-5 times between now and the draft, as the final declarations will occur, interviews, combines, and then draft position. Keep reading up on the talent and then make a call right after the draft. All of the additional info you will get over the next ~4 months will only help you lock into your target.

Some people won't like this, but if Mixon declares he will be in my top 5. I don't care if he doesn' get drafted until after the 4th or 5th round. Guy reminds be of a faster Leveon Bell. He has it all.

Yep, I'd take him at 1.05.

He's got a couple weeks to decide still and change his mind. Already seen a few end up opting into the draft after saying the opposite just a month ago. Agents will get in the ear of these guys and their family.

Wow. That is an "off the grid" pick. Are you thinking he plays WR or becomes a Jordan Reed type of TE?
