Depth-1 studs-0
Only 3 weeks in and glad I my plan to build depth over consolidate panned out on most of my teams. Let's go down the list:
Kenneth Dixon
Benjamin Watson
Tyler Eifert
Keenan Allen
Adrian Peterson
Corey Coleman
Gronk
Danny Woodhead
Tony Romo
Chris Ivory
Jamall Charles
Garappolo (debatable)
Jonathan Stewart
Jay Cutler
RG3(debatable)
Ameer Abdullah
Donte Moncrief
Arian Foster
Teddy Bridgewater
Dion Lewis (still)
Ladarius Green
Thomas Rawls (still)
I get it, injuries are a part of the game. But this is after 3 weeks and i'm sure im missing some guys, nevermind suspension. Let the debate or bashing begin.

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
How many players on that list are actually "studs" though? Very few. Especially in the context of players that you'd "consolidate" into. Depth can never be a bad thing (except for the start/sit headaches), but I don't see how a list full of a mostly middling and aging players being hurt proves anything about consolidating into stud dynasty assets.
JMO, but I see 2 players on that list that I'd consider dynasty studs....Gronk...Allen. That's it. And even calling Allen a dynasty stud is debatable depending on how high you are on him.

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
That's quite a list. It's been a bloodbath the first two weeks.
I'm still a studs over depth guy though. I find it's fairly easy to replenish depth after trading multiple pieces for the one single stud or better player. Injuries to all these players is how I often do that.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
The "studs" part is irrelevant, injuries happen by chance. My point with the list was to show how many fantasy relevant players have been hurt already. That lisr could be all studs or zero studs. This is about that injuries happen ALOT and losing 1 or 2 studs this way can cripple a season

I get that, and I'm not even saying you're wrong. I was just a bit confused as to what you were trying to point out here as the content of the post didn't seem to line up with the thread title.

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
Depends on size of league. Small league, small roster consolidate to studs.... large roster large league, Depth.
I tend to look at it as depth hinders me from making good pickups in leagues with tight roster space. Then I can't use my advantage of out scouting my opponents.

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
So far so good for me. I've avoided the injury bug this year, but it crushed my playoff chances last year and in previous years, so it's about time I got some good luck

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
Either you get lucky or you don't. Football is the most physically demanding sport out there. Tons of injuries are inevitable.
Re: Depth-1 studs-0
Studs at WR. Depth at RB. Same old story.

If you build your team like me you over pay for wr and stash more and more rb.
I have stud wr and I have come across great rb just from waivers. Studs first but you have to cut cloggers and fill bench with upside guys

Re: Depth-1 studs-0
My team generally goes through 2 to 3 year cycles. One year I will load the roster up with depth & high potential players. Another year I will consolidate talent into high performers and clear roster space. Then rinse and repeat.
It requires some patience and self control to not over react to the news of the day. Then again, it also requires knowing just when to react to the news of the day.
Gotta love this game of ours!

I agree with this.dlf_jules wrote:Studs at WR. Depth at RB. Same old story.
I'll get the top end guys at WR and load up on other guys at RB.
Re: Depth-1 studs-0
Exactly what I did this year. Traded Bell for Arob, then loaded up at RB with upside guys like like Foster, Gordon, Dixon...hasn't worked so far, but only 1-1 and if Arob and Watkins come around I'll be in good shape.Phaded wrote:I agree with this.dlf_jules wrote:Studs at WR.
