Fantasy Football Riddle

Ok I got one for you.

the league in question is a PPR league with team defense and special teams

Last year I made a trade with another owner: Eddie Royal for Owen Daniels (it was dumb...let it go, this is not about my stupidity )

That week him and I played against each other:

I didn't start Eddie Royal, but had I started him, I would have gotten 0 points.

However, Eddie Royal managed to score 12 points for the other team, the team he was no longer on, against me!


How is that possible? Can anyone guess?

Royal played on thursday, you traded for him on friday? And your league had some strange rules where the trade auto processed rather than wait for the next week?

Looking back, I screwed up the riddle, but it still worked. Actually both me and the other team got all 12 of his points because we do get the TD's if a player scores, but it still didn't mess up the meat of the riddle .
