Who should I take at 1.12? PPR dynasty league

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Who should I take at 1.12? PPR dynasty league

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Wed May 18, 2016 6:00 am

So I've got a really strong team and am up with the 1.12 pick. Defending champ. I don't really consider any position a DIRE need, but could argue TE might be the most logical place to get better (of course you can't have too many good RB or WRs). But usually Henry goes quite a bit later in our rookie drafts. I've made a thread seeing if anyone wanted to trade up but if I can't find a trade that suits me, who would you guys take with this pick with following roster. We start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 flex (rb/wr/te)

Newton, Mariota
Elliot, Martin, Gordon, Stewart, Sims, Morris
Julio, Robinson, Watkins, Benjamin, Moncrief, Funchess, Strong, Conley, Adams, Patterson
Oslen, M. Bennett

Draft so far

Elliot
Treadwell
Doctson
Coleman
Dixon
Henry
Shepard (what a steal at 1.7)
Thomas
Boyd
Prosise
Booker

So my choice of Fuller, Carroo, or Mitchell at WR, then Perkins, Howard, Jon Williams, or Drake at RB, or TE Henry....

I would go with BPA in Fuller, who is going in 1st round of many draft that I have been in or viewed. 2nd choice would be Carroo, 3rd Perkins

Carroo. I refuse to draft Fuller unless it's mid-late 2nd.

I know many places have Fuller going in the late first, but I'm just not a fan and think Miller could ultimately overtake him.

If you want BPA, I'd go with Carroo. However, he's not in an ideal situation so I would at least give consideration to Perkins. I think he's talented and is in a nice situation down the road.

Generally speaking, I avoid TEs in the first round because unless they are a special talent, they likely won't make significant contributions until year 3.

appreciate the responses, will publicly admit I'm not buying Fuller. I think he's Ted Ginn II and I can't see him every being a great asset in a dynasty PPR league.

No way for Fuller. Good on you, Buck. I agree 100% with your assessment.

I like Carroo long term... and I mean LONG term... like 3+ years out.

If you want to take a shot at short term gains, I'd take Perkins, then flip him for a 1/2 or 1/1 in the 2017 draft.

He'll be the starter in NY sooner than later, his value will only increase from this point forward, and immediately.

I'd be willing to bet you could draft Perkins now, wait until the end of the season, then trade him for 1/Carroo at the end of the season.

the thoughts on fuller remind me of kelvin benjamin... i got him in the middle of the 2nd round that year (drafted robinson at the end of the round too).
i am not saying that kelvin is the greatest player, but at this point of the draft, i think the risk is minimal.
caroo...you will be able to buy him for a 2nd round pick in a year or 2...

drake was drafted in the 3rd round....should get some play...he is still available @ 2.05 in my league
perkins is interesting, but that backfield is pretty crowded and they seem to play the hot hand ... drafted 1.11 in mine
howard- seems to be trending upward...drafted 1.10 in my league

hunter henry was just drafted @ 2.3 in my league, so not too far off here

do you have any other picks?
