How is he not even ranked on this site's devy board for 2017? am I missing something?

Is he flying under the radar outside of Big10 country?

For me, Butt is in the conversation with OJ and Engram as the #1 TE for 2017.

I couldn't tell you why he's not in the rankings as he 100% should be and should've been last year as well. I tend to use DLF's devy rankings as a guide to how others will draft in devy as opposed to prospect rankings. There are other prospects not listed in the rankings that are relatively highly ranked on different sites around the web, so using all your resources is the best bet.

Don't get me wrong, the rankings are good here as well...but there are some omissions and additions that I don't understand.

There's a weird system glitch which prevents Butt from showing up in the rankings system. It is bizarre, and I do not really have an answer for it. In any event, he is very good. Would be in the Howard tier for me.

A recommendation for anyone using their work computers: do not Google "Jake Butt".

On a slightly different topic, does anyone have a contact for a solid career placement service?

I get why NFL teams are high on this guy but why are fantasy owners? I'd have him below Maxx Williams and probably below Hunter Henry(who I don't like) among some recent TEs to come out. I only want Dwayne Allen's on my team if Luck is throwing them the ball.

Butt is not like Dwayne Allen at all.

What is he like then?

Olsen ran a 4.51 coming out and Eifert has elite "above the rim" skills for a TE. I don't think he's anywhere close to them athletically. His burst, agility, vertical all appear poor and top speed is average at best. There are plenty of TEs who are big, tough, and have good hands that aren't fantasy starters.

I disagree with your evaluation of his overall athleticism. He doesn't look lumbering to me. I think he's an efficient mover for his size and that he can be a top line TE in the NFL.

He's also good in contested tight areas. He knows his way around the middle of the field. Honestly, you won't find many 6'6" 250 20 year olds that can do what he did last season.
