For what it's worth, I'm not a PC type at all, I'm only pointing out that "thug" appears to be turning into the new, socially acceptable "n" word.

I'm not saying you're racist, or that thug is inherently racist. It's just being used more and more in racist ways.

(I'm also not making it a race issue in terms of Manziel being "let off", I'm only pointing out that when predominantly it's black athletes being called thugs for their legal indiscretions, there's clearly a racial angle, conscious or unconscious and unintended)

I get what you're saying. A thug is a thug to me though....black/white/brown/purple/Caitlin-Bruce whatever the person is lol

Agreed. The only racial lines being crossed are by those saying these words are connected to any one race. Thug is a gangster criminal type that opposes authority when properly confronted for wrong actions. All races can and indeed do this. The reason tre mason crossed into thuggish territory for me was when he had to be "forcibly removed from his vehicle via taser." Many people do dumb things, but not having an off switch enters into a new territory.
