Who would you keep?!

Postby Risky bidness » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:37 am

I have to cut my roster in sig down to 14 players by week 17.

I've got 11 guys for sure I'm holding onto.

What 14 would you keep if you owned this team? I'd like your picks to see if I'm on track will the majority.

Thanks in advance!!!

All three QBs, Brown, Lynch, Jacobs, Jackson, All4 wrs and carlson

That makes 12 in my book. Then take your two favorite defensive guys (morrison and pace?) and roll with that. Or i guess you could keep waiting for bush but who knows if that will ever happen.

I wouldn't keep Warner, there is talk that he may retire after this year, plus you have Schaub. I like the rest above, the last three 3 IDP players.

What's your vibe on Brandon Jacobs?

Postby Risky bidness » Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:10 pm

I traded 1 of my 2nd round picks in 2010 for Jacobs roughly 4 weeks ago in a push to make the playoffs. I hadn't watched many Giants games before that and have seen a little since I acquired him.

What has his issue/s been this year? O-line, play calling, is he overrated, etc?

What's your take on him moving forward into the off season?

Gimme somethin! :)[/img]

For whatever reason at the beginning of the year he was slow to the line of scrimmage. He is the kind of runner that picks up momentum as he runs...well when he was slow to the line, the defense would tackle him before he got going. The last two weeks that has changed. He is running angry again. I think if the Giants cut out the retarded mistakes they have been making...they could be dangerous if they made the playoffs....but I am not counting on it at all!!! lol On topic....Jacobs will be fine but I wouldn't hesitate in trading him either if he finishes strong.

start QB, RB, WR, WR, FLEX RB/WR, TE, 3 L/B, 2 D/B league is .5 PPR, IDP, return yards 14 team league, can keep up to 14 players.

QB - Warner, Schaub, Stafford
I'd keep 2 QBs in a 14 team league - safe to cut Warner loose.

RB - R. Brown, Lynch, Jacobs, F. Jackson, M. Bush, Jennings, Hillard
Still prefer Lynch longterm. You can draft back Jackson or maybe someone better. Jennings is still a wild card for me.

WR - L. Fitz, R. Moss, S. Smith (CAR), Harvin
if you decide to keep Jackson, Smith is the WR I'd let go.

TE - Carlson, Cook
I usually advise against protecting TEs, but if Carlson is a top 5 like everyone says he will be, he's worth keeping. My first impulse was to protect Cook also, but he'll be easier to draft back next year.

LB - K. Morrison, E.J. Henderson, S. Cooper, Pace, Merriman
A solid LB corp is important in IDP. You might be able to get by with letting Pace or Morrison go and keeping RB Jackson.

DB - Rogers-cromartie, Bethea, McGowan, babineaux
dbacks are a dime a dozen.

K - gostkowski
this is the one Kicker I would protect, and wouldn't fault you for finding room for him.

That's 12. I don't play with IDP's so I won't go there with my advice. But, when I have played in those leagues, it seems like it's easier to find productive players as free agents than offensive players. So, I'd only keep your favorite 2 of those if I were you.
