this saddens me :/

(for purely selfish reasons)

ETA: i completely understand there are any number of necessary/legitimate reasons why a person would want/need to depart a league. no criticism is intended.

To give some more context, I am actually stepping away from fantasy football in many respects. There is a new forum administrator at DLF, I'm taking a break from writing, and I'm dropping several leagues.

As you might guess, there are some big real-life changes driving the fantasy football moves. The changes are overall good, I think, but they don't leave much time or attention for fantasy football.

Well that's just downright depressing for fantasy football.

Congrats? Good luck? Whatever you're pursuing I hope it goes well and I'm glad to hear you'll be chiming in here or there.

There have been a couple of discussions in DLF Premium League (sister league to HOF League) about the possibility of merging with HOF League to create a 32 super league. I would say that the majority of our members thought positively of such a move. And I wanted to raise the idea here, for discussions purposes.

Is this something that HoFers would be interested in? Are some opposed to such a move? How afraid are you of being Joe Namathed by one of us?

i suppose it would depend on the form this takes. do you mean simply having the two champion teams face each other in
a comparison of points scored in the championship week?

that seems easy enough, but, heck, we could do that now without involving anyone. you could do that right now with any
two leagues that finish in week 16.

if i means a more formal folding in/acquisition or something that would change functionality (two player pools, etc.) then
that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

I'm open to it, but I don't really know the logistics behind it.

If we did that I would rather start fresh and redraft, or add a league so we have the 16 but add the 32. I'm open to other proposals though.

Interesting.
I mean scoring is the same so really not a problem there. Wouldn't matter to me much as nothing really changes other than 2 guys will have a player. Gives you multiple options to sell/buy so if you want CMike and I am being a jerk about it you can pony up the 1st to the other owner ;)
anyway. The idea has merit.

I wouldn't mind shortening the season by a week to have a HOF vs Premium Championship game, but I wouldn't really want to start over/redraft in a new 32 league ..

Honestly, I haven't put that much thought into the specifics. But the general idea was to take the two existing leagues and MERGE them into a 32 team, 2 player pool super league. No re-draft, just a merger. Would need to tweak schedules, but that's it.

One way to do it, would be to keep the schedule exactly the same and have a four team Week 16 championship. So the two HoFL finalists and the two DLFPL finalists would all play in Week 16. Basically run segregated playoffs until Week 16. To be clear, however, some "inter-league" play would occur during the regular season.

Imagine the GroupMe activity if we went to 32! And the bragging rights of whomever would win! It would be glorious.

If you guys are still using my graphics for your league. DON'T change the skin when you change over to the 2017 page. Once i see what im working with (as far as MFL's new page goes) I will create a new CSS skin based on MFL's new UI. Once that's done I'll let you know and I'll install it to your page with any new team minis that need to be made. If you don't use my graphics anymore then that means I'm off the hook and don't need to worry about it lol.
