12 team SF TEP
START 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 TE, 3 flex, and 1 SF

I traded Russell Wilson

in exchange for

Brian Robinson, Gibson, Juwan Johnson and a 2nd (which I then knowingly had a deal in place to flip the 2nd for AJ Dillon)

Some context:
My QBs were Wilson, Mac Jones, Baker Mayfield, Garrapollo, Dobbs/Tune and
My RB's were White, Akers, Montgomery, Perine, Penny, Harris, J. Hill and Dowdle

felt like I could spare a QB to bolster my RBs. Adding Juwan Johnson was just a little extra something since its a TEP league

TE's were: Laporta, Njoku, Schultz, Fant, Dulcich
¢¢

12 team SF TEP
STARTERS | BENCH
QB (1) Mayfield, Mac Jones, Garrapollo, Darnold, Dobbs
RB (2) Kyren Williams, Rachaad White, AJ Dillon, Gibson, K. Mitchell, Perine, CEH, Akers, Dowdle
WR (3) Collins, Palmer, Meyers, Chark, Boyd, Juju
TE (2) Laporta, Kmet , Schultz, J. Johnson, Fant, Dulcich
FLEX (3) Montgomery, Njoku, Brian Robinson
SF (1) Minshew

Thanks. I know my WRs are older (aside from Jefferson) but I think it's a strong core and with Bijan and Kelce, I think I can take a run at it. Everyone is short at one position or another (usually RB). I like the trade, too.

Starters are now:

Bijan, Connor, RB3 (Gainwell/ZMoss)
Jefferson, Hill, KAllen, Diggs
Kelce, Pitts/Kmet

Why is Ford a 1 year rental?

Chubb has no guaranteed money left on his deal and could take upwards of 12+ months to recover from this one - if not be out of the league entirely if it goes wrong.

Other guy just paid, what... a 5-ish spot move down in the draft to gamble on him? I love it for that guy.

Both sides of the trade could take a victory lap. The one sending Ford away could be tanking for Caleb or MHJ, Ford putting up points is just not worth it in that case. The one receiving could be adding depth/RB2 to the team going for the ship.

Perhaps. I'm just willing to gamble that Jerome Ford is going to be worth more than a 5 spot trade down from the mid-to-late 1st.

Especially with the early news on Chubb's knee.

I think he sold too low. I'll happily take my mea culpa if I'm wrong.

I'm with the mid 1st on that deal. I believe you will get a much better talent than ford at that mid 1st. I would have liked to keep the early 2nd too, but any time I can get earlier in the first, it's beneficial. No clue the league dynamics, but imagine walking away with CW and MHJ....you wouldn't miss Ford.

No one is walking away with CW or MHJ unless they have a top 3 pick.

5-ish spots at that place in the draft is a not a small amount, plus the round drop means the value on the 2nd is capped much lower (it's still too early in the year for pick projections to be reliable).

And he's a 1 year rental because even if Chubb doesn't come back the Browns should sign or draft over him. There's also a chance they sign Hunt or Fournette *this* season. There's no reason to assume that the Browns are just set with Ford as the lead back for the foreseeable future.

E: The Browns have signed Hunt. Remains to be seen what the workload distribution is, but Hunt is familiar with that offense so wouldn't be surprising to see all full blown RBBC this week.
