ArrylT wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2017 7:06 am Ted Ginn is the same age as Jordy Nelson - ergo Nelson must also be 450 years old. ;)

1) Ted Ginn has caught 50+ passes twice, once in 2008 and last year, and never surpassed 800 yards receiving.. When Ginn starts his age related dropoff, it will take about 13 seconds, and the dropoff will measure the height of a roadside curb.

2) Jordy Nelson has nearly equaled Ted Ginn's 10 year career in receptions and yards, and doubled Ginn's career TDs in the last three seasons. His age related drop off will not ever arrive, because....

3) When Aaron Rodgers throws a football, some of his sweat from his hands is transferred to the ball, which in turn gets transferred to the Packers pass catchers hands, which in turn keeps them from aging. Jordy Nelson is actually Donald Driver in disguise.

4) If anything, catching passes from Cam Newton has aged Ted Ginn prematurely. Ginn is easily psychologically in his mid 50's.
Ah ok when you say it like that it makes more sense. ;)

That is a very comprehensive disguise.

Robert Davis in Washington seems to showing well.. The kid is a freak athlete, and is basically free in most leagues:

http://www.redskins.com/news/article-1/ ... a582af8f28
the Georgia State product has impressed head coach Jay Gruden, not just with his playmaking abilities as a pass catcher but also in his blocking abilities.

“Robert has done some good things, not just catching the ball but blocking,” Gruden said. “I’ve been impressed with him. We’re trying to run the ball. Any time you want to be a physical, running football team, you have to have physical receivers to go in there and block safeties from time to time, sometimes even linebackers. Robert has proven he can do that. He’s not afraid, that’s for sure.

“He’s pancaked a couple guys already so that’s what caught my eye so far. Then he’s making his mark on special teams; he’s getting better on special teams. The other day he had a nice long touchdown catch from Colt [McCoy] and he’s doing good things in the passing game. Mentally, it’s all got to start to slow down for him but he’s getting there. He’s a big, physical, talented kid that we like.”

On the touchdown reception from McCoy, the quarterback tossed up a ball to Davis who showcased his speed to outgun third-year cornerback Quinton Dunbar for the long reception.

Davis has also flashed an ability to be a red zone threat, catching a few fade route touchdowns during 1-on-1 drills.

We need DeSean Jackson's legs to suddenly fall off or something. He's kind of a jerk, so I wouldn't feel too bad.

Hearing more Ricardo Louis chatter. Apparently he has had an awesome offseason getting in the best shape of his life and studying his butt off. We already knew he had the physical ability, his hands were questionable. If he has gotten the mental aspect of the game then it just becomes a matter of him being consistent in catching.

His route running was the bigger problem over hands but yes, I agree he has gotten a ton of good coach speak and seems to be really improving on those issues. I'm a fan (started a thread on him last year) and I'm excited too. Love top tier athletes who are extremely cheap as my lottery ticket end of bench stashes (if there's a chance they can improve their problem area).

Especially with Coleman showing his fragility so far, there could be a real opportunity for Louis.

Bump

1) Kyle Juszczyk: There has been a lot of talk about Kyle Juszczyk having a big role in the passing game. He averaged 38 receptions the last two years, and performed really well in limited action. San Fran lacks elite pass catchcers (both WR and RB), so the opportunity is there.

2) Terrell Watson: You've probably heard the name, and he's on the steelers. Deep sleeper who holds NCAA records out of Azusa Pacific. Showed well in the last preseason game (5 carries 27 yards)

3) Jerome Lane

A little love for Darboh:
(http://www.seahawks.com/news/2017/08/10 ... ining-camp)

4. Amara Darboh is quietly having a strong camp.

Amara Darboh, a third-round pick out of Michigan, hasn’t necessarily made a ton of “wow” plays in camp, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been playing well. Darboh has picked up the playbook fast, not an easy task at receiver, making him more reliable than most rookies who are a week into their first camp, and he has the combination of size and speed that gives him the potential to be a playmaker early in his career. On Thursday, Darboh showed off that size/speed combination, getting a little bit of separation on the sideline before catching a deep pass down the left sideline.

“Man, I like him a lot,” Carroll said. “He’s been tough, he’s caught a lot of tough balls, he’s a physical kid that blocks well, cares. He’s really smart, he studied his tail off. He’s already looking at a couple different spots that he can play for us. He’s off to a really good start in this camp. He’s done nothing but positive things.”

Starting over McKinnon is worth noting too.
A little off topic, but I'm wondering what to do with McKinnon. I don't think he's a scrub... he could land in a good backup role next year and be worth something again. Don't know whether to drop him or not in the league where I own him.
Hold till after training camp if you can swing it. Without injury he won't be worth starting this year. But he will walk and hopefully end up as a 3rd down back somewhere. It's a crappy situation since I'm with you and think he has some talent.
Ditto, I'm trying to hold to see where he ends up next year

Spent $1 of FAAB on him and dropped Alex Collins... that's how much I'm buying into it

Jaron Brown was just taken with pick 3.09 in our rookie/FA draft.
