The age difference is enticing, but I think in any format or roster situation you have to go Aiyuk. He’s proven and he’s not old.kmbryant09 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 2:23 pm How do people view JSN vs. Brandon Aiyuk value wise? Even in a rebuild he'll just be entering the age apex in a couple years when you're ready to contend.
Age is extremely overrated at the WR position. There's no guarantee that JSN will ever reach Aiyuk's talent and he's in a worse situation.

I'd love a second for Watson.kmbryant09 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 2:31 pm When did this become a redraft forum? I pointed out that 3 of the top 4 WRs from last year's class were fantasy afterthoughts for nearly the entire first half of the season.
It's been 4 weeks into the season and JSN was recovering from a broken hand. Let's see how this plays out all season before we start throwing up red flags.
The same people panicking now probably sold Garrett Wilson for a late 1st, and Christian Watson & Drake London for a second after week 6 last year. Heck, they might've even dropped ASRB halfway through his rookie year.
Sheesh.

First four games: 15.5 y/gm, 53% snaps, 5.0 tar/gm, 3.1 yards/target
Last five games: 52.6 y/gm, 69% snaps, 5.6 tar/gm, 9.4 yards/target
aDOT is still low on the season at 4.4, but they're looking for him on more stuff down the field. He's looking good after the catch with 6.6 YAC/r. It's looking like he'll finish with a respectable rookie season after a really slow start.

He should be fine. The low ADOT is killing him, but he gets open and has good YAC. I would like to think once Lockett leaves, he is going to break out with more intermediate and deep targets. Too many mouths to feed right now

You'd think JSN had a bad rookie season, but he's winning on the exact types of routes that he should be in his role. Very encouraging.

Re: Jaxon Smith-Njigba: the thread
I really think Matt Harmon's stuff is pretty good, but it's not gospel. There's things he really doesn't take into consideration on his charting, IMO, and it should be critiqued, too. It's one guys view on a play, or the people he hires, and they can all miss context. It's often clear to DB's a ball is going somewhere else, and they don't hold coverage as strong due to it. So many variables. I'd love to be there in the room, to see how they do it, because there are so many nuances on how D's are playing, what a DB is doing, why he'll let a guy go etc etc etc.
This isn't just about JSN, it's about all RP stuff I see. It's a cool chart, that looks awesome. It markets really well. How accurate it is, though? Debatable.

It's flawed, but have yet to see a more useful and informative version of what he does that corrects on the downside. Open Score is good, but doesn't really go into routes.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 3:14 pm I really think Matt Harmon's stuff is pretty good, but it's not gospel. No stat or analytical study comes without something missing, but it's still very good work that more often than not has validity.

Re: Jaxon Smith-Njigba: the thread
For sure. JSN still is capped as a WR 2, IMO, as long as DK is there. Especially with the new OC, and HC. Running the ball, and pushing the ball down the field will no doubt be a priority. He's a solid player, and will likely fit in nicely as a flex option/WR3 in his career prime. He's not likely ever going to be a difference maker in FF. So few WR's are, though. Not a bad player to have on your roster, as I think he's definitely shown he can hang as a safety blanket in an offense for many years, but he's not a guy you're going to want to funnel targets to, as an OC.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 3:18 pmIt's flawed, but have yet to see a more useful and informative version of what he does that corrects on the downside.
