2.6. Ka'Deem Carey RB, Arizona

I'm glad he ran a slow 40. So many people base everything off that and now he is being underrated. The fact is, this guy knows how to play running back. If my draft was today, I think he may be the #1 RB on my list.

To me, there are just too many red flags here . . . one could argue he was simply a stat compiler in college who was given a heavy workload. There just hasnt been a runningback in the last decade and a half who has been Carey's size and had his type of measurables that went on to be a successful runningback. Alfred Morris is probably the closest thing, but he is 15 lbs heavier, ran a better 40 at least and had good agility numbers (much better than Carey's numbers). For me, Carey's stock hasnt dropped because of a poor 40, its dropped because he had a poor 40, poor agility numbers, and below average burst/strength numbers. And then, I when I watch his tape, I don't see special. I recognize that he runs hard, but he just doesnt jump out to me on tape. Reminds me of any ole' other runningback out there who just got a lot of touches in a runningback friendly offense.

And per this forum, Ball is considered a top 10 dynasty back by some people already.

I don't love Montee Ball either, but Ball is slightly more athletic than Carey . . . he was around 10 lbs heavier at the combine, ran over a tenth of a second faster than Carey, and Ball put up better agility numbers overall, with their explosion numbers being pretty even (Carey better vert, Ball better broad), though with Carey showing slightly more strength (but both of them show slightly below average strength for the rb position) . . . Ball being rated that high is completely a factor of him being the Broncos' starting rb for me, and I have been a seller of his wherever I owned him (which wasnt very many leagues). Once Peyton retires, people are going to regret holding Ball, in my opinion, but I recognize his value should be high the next two-ish years, haha . . . if Carey is drafted by a team like the Saints and is guaranteed being handed the started job, id have to recognize there is value there and would draft him higher, but only to trade him when his value is high, haha
