Crap. I didn't realize you were the one we were waiting on. I was the one that complained about the wait. You are more than welcome to have my spot if you want.meineymoe wrote:Thanks for starting this - sorry my weekend extended into midweek here and I didn't get a chance to check in.

No problem, I'd have done the same
No, you just make the picks - I'd rather stay over here and make fun of them!

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
I agree. Once RBs have a uniform many owners overlook their talent deficeincies and value situation greaterAmarok wrote:boobam13 wrote:Totally agree...many teams draft need over talentmeineymoe wrote:I'll be shocked if 9 of the first 11 picks in any of my drafts are WRs.
wow.
can't wait until after we see the landing spots for these guys....

100% agree. In most normal leagues (meaning leagues that have casual to moderately intense owners), QBs and RBs are going to creep up a TON - I'm predicting two if not three QBs taken in the first round in most normal leagues due to some combination of name recognition, need, and flashiness. This is going to let some pretty big talent slide down the board.
The WRs are more talented in this draft and deeper than RBs IMO
I totally disagree with the QB comment. I don't think any QBs will go round 1
Early mid round two I expect.
In a 12 team league non superflex. Start one QB. There is little value to drafting a QB early
Re: April rookie Mock draft?
Anyone else surprised that Ebron made it to the 2nd round? Or am I drinking the Kool aid and there is artificial sweetener in it?

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
Ebron is likely to go 1.10- 2.01 range
Obviously depends upon landing spot
You have to remember that it often takes TEs 3 yrs to develop and become productive
It a tough position to learn. Plus so dependent upon the offensive scheme and QB
Look at Eifert. Great talent. But just not there yet.
It takes a forward looking patient owner to take a TE round one of rookie drafts

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
I almost pulled the trigger on Ebron at 10. I only passed because my top RB was still on the board and I felt that was a more shallow position overall than TE.

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
I'm gunna say something, I'm ok with comments but don't bash me too bad or tell me to go jump off a tall building but...........
I think Ebron is on an entirely different level than Eifert. If Ebron limits the drops (which he has great hands he just looks up field before he has the ball fully secured) I think he could be really really good.

Not bashing anyone. I think 2.01 is the back end of where Ebron could go.
I really like him. Was debating between him and mason.
I think his value is 1.08-1.12
I was just trying to make the point that owners will likely be reluctant to draft TEs in the first round of rookie drafts

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
Gotcha. I was more saying that people would debate that I was nuts to say Eiffert is well below him in terms of potential. I do have to admit, I hate pretty much all golden domers......golden Tate the most

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
Somewhat of a thread hijack here, but I think I'd take Eifert over Ebron.
Eifert is more of an every down TE in my opinion.
Eifert 6'5" 250 4.68 40 35.5 vert 6.9 3 cone
Ebron 6'4" 240 4.6 40 32 inch vert
I think Eifert has better hands, better blocker and a better redbone threat
Ebron may have the edge as a seam stretcher.
These two May be closer than people think

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
I totally agree. I just have that gut feeling. Again maybe it's the Notre Dame thing......or Andy Dalton. Yes, I'd rather have my TE getting balls from EJ Manuel than Andy Dalton. Again, maybe it's the Notre Dame hate that is fueling my crazy decisions.

Re: April rookie Mock draft?
I have no problem with the Notre Dame hate
However, I'm not a believer in drafting rookie TEs until mid second round or later.
The only exception this year is if the Packers take Ebron or Amaro in the first or second round - and then, it will be purely a fanboy pick.
