No McBride owner is doing that.
IDK I originally GOT Kelce for a 1st, three years ago, straight up, which ended up being the 1.07. Some may be in love with the name.
I wouldn't move McBride for Kelce straight up.

Because you're smart. Some of the guys in my league are not nearly as savvy as you all. I could see a guy who is in a win-now mode, who got McBride off the WW or something trading for Kelce straight up.

Pitts has been really disappointing but his dynasty/career arc seems similar to Hockenson. Promise early on, followed by an injury, then inconsistent play. Hockenson's value really tanked during that time and now he is back to tier 1. Unlike a RB or WR, I think Pitts still has an opportunity to jump into tier 1, but will need a change of scenery.
I had the same thought a few weeks ago. Totally agree. Pitts and Hock were also both top 10 picks, and underclassmen at the time of their draft, too. I see a lot of parallels, too.

Kittle getting disrespected.

He is as talented of a TE as any in the league. There’s nothing Kelce, LaPorta, or Hock can do that Kittle can’t do.

He’s not needed as the #1 every week, but situations change.

He’s right there behind LaPorta & Hock (due to age) for me in a tier with McBride, Kincaid, Kelce (off the top of my head)

Okay, sorry, not WW, but maybe late draft pick. He went 3.12 in this particular league. 3.06 in another.

No specific order within tiers really but this is how I group them.

Great and not too old:
Laporta, McBride, Hock, Andrews, Kincaid

Great but not young:
Kelce, Kittle

Young and valuable but not producing right now:
Pitts, Bowers

Could be worse:
Goedert, Ferguson, PatF, Kmet, Engram, Schultz, Njoku

Young with upside:
Mayer, Musgrave

Could see a resurgence, but probably not:
Dulcich, Chig, Otton

I love this idea of categories. I hadn't really thought of doing it like this. Usually we're caught up in rankings and tiers, and I think this is REALLY valuable. Thanks for the construct, Jigga94! (And, FWIW, no real disagreements with where you put everyone, either.)

Very good assessment.

On another note, I'm going to push back slightly on the whole "Deepest TE has ever been" talk. Our TE12 is sitting at 10.1ppg. Last year the TE12 was at 9.4ppg and in 2021 TE12 was at 10.4. Seems like we are just rotating the 5-15 TEs still. I do think we are seeing a shift though to some of the younger TEs with LaPorta, Kincaid, Musgrave (Pitts, Bowers?).

Musgrave still has to prove it for me. I was fooled by Chig and Dulcich last yr. I really like Mayer though, so I get the idea.

Wonder if some guys can vault up. Kmet has actually been solid, Ferguson has that situation gold mine. Which would be had in a trade a lot cheaper than Pitts or Bowers

Musgrave - 34 YPG
Tucker Kraft - 28 YPG without Musgrave

One of these guys is getting a lot more hype despite not a lot more production.

Historically a rookie TE being productive is a good sign but given the Packers youth movement it might've been a false positive with Musgrave. We'll see. He at least has athletic upside and has been productive without playing a lot of football.

I still think Kelce is a Tier 1 TE, because he's still putting up elite numbers.

Sure, he will probably retire in 3-4 years, but dynasty is played in 3-4 year windows anyway. He's an elite player for any win-now team in a startup. No other TE guarantees you the type of volume he gets or from an elite QB.

Tier 1: LaPorta, Hockenson, McBride, Kelce, Andrews
Tier 2: Bowers, Kincaid, Kittle
Tier 3: Goedert, Engram, Pitts, Kmet
Tier 4: Ferguson, Musgrave, Mayer, Waller, Freiermuth, Njoku, Schultz
Tier 5: Otton, Okonkwo, Kraft
Present: Henry, Granson, Everett, Fant, Likely, Knox

Overall, this is the most talent there's been at TE in a long, long time.

Interesting that this board seems universally higher on McBride than Kincaid but Kincaid is valued more by the masses on KTC right now. They're both close on there as well so can see it just being owner preference somewhat.

The rookie effect. Kincaid was billed as the stud and he largely met those expectations so his value had little resistance upward a spot or two. McBride's value was minimal at points, so had to adjust upwards pretty significantly as he performed. Takes longer to bump a guy from TE25 to TE3 than it is TE6 to TE3. The off-season I'm sure will see KTC balance out, but I like both of these guys going forward.
