2023 week 5

I hate redraft. 0-4 in my league

I used to be a perennial redraft winner until I got really into dynasty. Now my dynasty teams regularly make playoffs and my redraft teams regularly are near the bottom of the league ... no clue what happened but I've forgotten how to play the "easy"/"casual" format

Went 4/5 last week, the loss is in a new orphan that I expect to be in the bottom three all year.

The only thing I don't like is that it's this "safeleagues" website that I'd never heard of before, and I don't like that some guys are getting away with tanking. One guy has no starting QBS in a Superflex. The "commish" said that if he traded away QBs, and dropped players, but still has a "QB" to start, then it's not tanking. In a Superflex he only owns Lance and Mills. That seems wrong to me. So maybe he's tanking to get Caleb but I don't like it. How long can a guy sit on the bottom?

I'm torn on this. I guess this year will be a good year for me to test this theory.

I've got two teams that are SUPER top-heavy (Team 2 & Team 3 in signature), and one team that has more depth (though it's got some heavy hitters too - Team 1). All should be strong contenders but will be interesting to see how it plays out

In a Superflex he only owns Lance and Mills. That seems wrong to me. So maybe he's tanking to get Caleb but I don't like it. How long can a guy sit on the bottom?

I joined two Safeleages leages this year... and if others are doing this and the commish doesn't have a problem then it makes me feel better about going zero-RB/zero-WR in one of them (3rd team below ). I was worried someone might say something, but hey, if having no starting QB's in a SF league can fly there then I should be fine.

First week of bye’s - who’s lucky and who’s unlucky? Count me in the lucky group as I play an 8-0 team this week, but he’s down Herbert, KAllen, Cooper, and Evans.

Thinking further on this... I guess I'm due some luck after I lost a game because Mahomes slid instead of scoring at the end of the KC vs. Jets game...

They said it's not illegal to not have a starting QB, let alone two, in a Superflex but he has to start a valid lineup, and make every effort to pick up any QBs. Says it happens often in Superflex, but that the guy will probably correct it after the draft.

Tanking is fine if you are doing it right by trading away starters. It's not fine if you are benching players for injured or bye week players.

Yeah that’s perfectly fine in my opinion. Bad or shameful tanking would be benching a starting qb for a non starting qb

For those in IDP leagues that haven't already done so I would recommend picking up Josh Uche, he's the likely replacement and was a beast as a fill in starter last year
