I am not ready to call Mac middle tier. He has some obstacles in his way, but he is making some really poor decisions and not showing any of the upside I once saw. I would rather own Howell if I had the choice. None are anybody I want to own though

I agree I'd definitely rather hold Howell than Mac. I'd also rather hold Ridder than Mac, but only just barely.

Mac is beginning to look like a career backup. Not bad enough to cut, not good enough to start.
