200-plus pound early-declare WRs drafted in the top-10 since 2011:SteveMaddensShoes wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 7:09 am I prefer higher draft capital, but if I remember correctly it needs to be top 5 NFL draft to really lock up a near sure thing. So even 1.08 for Drake isn't a lock.
AJ Green, Julio Jones, Justin Blackmon, Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Mike Williams, Ja'Marr Chase, Drake London.
200-plus pound non-early-declare WRs drafted in the top-10 since 2011:
Corey Davis, Kevin White.
And to your specific "top 5" thing - since 2011, that would be:
Corey Davis (5th), Sammy Watkins (4th), Amari Cooper (4th), Justin Blackmon (5th), Ja'marr Chase (5th)
So yeah, maybe go re-check wherever you read that nonsense

My apologies. So I am wrong there. Drake is in good company.
I’ll stop quoting whatever I imagined I’d read.

Watson in the same tier as Drake London (nevermind over him) looks like waaay overvaluing situation over draft capital.

Really REALLY good company. Elite b/o age, early declare, elite production, elite draft capital. If analytics play any part in your decision making at all, then this is likely your WR1 in 2022 just like it was the NFL's.
JJ Zachariason compiled the first bit of that at the end of the 1st Round yesterday. You can find that and many of his other excellent opinions here.
And if you want to know why Drake London was already the analytic WR 1.01 lock before he'd even gotten 1st round DC, I highly recommend DFBeanCounters thread right here.

Re: Post Draft Rookie Rankings
Ordered with tiers
Hall
Walker
London, Burks, Wilson
Pickett, Jameson, Olave
- fairly big drop -
Watson, R White, Cook, Moore, Pickens, Dotson
Not really a set order on these last guys just throwing them in there as my next favorites. I figured they would get day 2 capital, but some of these landing spots solidify them here over the next group of guys. I will say I keep moving Olave and Dotson down and London and Burks up. But not much else has changed.

I get many including some scouts like London but players that can’t separate in college don’t last too long in the NFL as a general rule.
London runs like he is in quicksand IMO and has a high bust factor.
Watson and London may be similar in size but only one runs like Calvin Johnson while the other has the speed of a middling TE.
Looking forward to checking back in a few years once they develop in the big boy league.

London has better ball skills which is huge but it's not to say Watson can't get better to close the gap there as he never saw a huge volume in the run first program in college.
Watson has the much better QB for immediate production and a clear path to being option 1 if he catches on sooner than later. London is still in competition with Pitts to be option 1 .
Breece is the only RB1 so is clear #1 overall. WR has only a few that project to be in line as team #1 anytime soon. London , Watson, Burks and Wilson plus Jameson whenever he gets totally healthy.
Olave , Dotson , Skyy , Pickens , etc... are looking at secondary roles. Pickett I wouldn't bet on beating out Trubisky and no TE is threatening to be a TE1.
PRETTY POOR DRAFT CLASS if you were expecting to add to a contender. Not a whole lot better if in a rebuild.

Re: Post Draft Rookie Rankings
I still maintain this is a below average draft class. But it reminds me of 2019, which did have some big hits, so I do expect a few of these guys to pay off big. But which ones beyond Breece Hall is going to be really hard to figure out. Anyways, here are my initial positional rankings that I’ll use to make my picks in 2 rookie drafts starting later tonight:
