Plenty of other swings and misses at any position. Harry, Guice, Richardson, Little Moe with the gimpy leg...I could go on forever baby.

In early drafts you have to draft your guy and enjoy the ride.

Not a big fan of Willis but I’m confident enough he goes top 16 or so in the real draft that you have to take him 1.1

If he is an average NFL QB he will break fantasy

LOL. He went 1.08 in our SF DLF Early Birds Special league. (This league was based on the league you mentioned. FWIW, we have 2 orphans available, if any DLF regular is interested, shoot me a DM)
Have you guys wised up and went to must start 1 RB. Don’t like the league 1960 worship of RB’s mind set.

If you ever get to a point that you allow owners freedoms to set the team they like via flex positions after 1 must start let me know and I will jump back in.

If not; enjoy league turnover.

Ps I was an initial owner but quickly realized the league was based on old school thinking so left to focus on money leagues.

It was a solid league outside of one foolish draconian rule. Must start 2 RB’s in 16 team leagues is stupid. The League was SF but didn’t force 2QB’s to start.

The one owner is leaving FF altogether after 20 years to focus on other things, and the other is leaving because he's starting a family. Nothing to do with league settings. Everybody else is quite content. We all knew the requirements when joining the league, sorry you didn't take to it. I still managed to have Kamara, Ekeler, CEH, Monty, Chubb and Rojo to name a few, so I'm fine with it. Manage your draft and moves according to the set up of the league. Nobody else in the league has taken issue with it, but I understand after a few years if a league doesn't suit your preferences. It happens.

It's a free league, so not really a huge commitment. Minust the MFL fee, of course, which was too pricey for one owner who joined for the startup , and backed out after drafting his team, realizing he had to pony up a few bucks.

So help me undertand why Trey Lance and all his athleticsm and room to grow was so targeted and Willis is too much of a risk with the same description? If this was SF he would absolutely be my pick. That being said, I think your build points to taking the RB you feel best about or going for the WR HR. For me that is Burks

I don't know a whole lot about him yet, but the dual threat upside in SF is certainly worth the 1.01.

But as always, organization, HC, and offensive line for QB is crucial. So, landing spot will make or break him.

So you still don't allow owners the freedom to set flex positions as they see fit in a 16 team league.

Got it and Good Luck.

While I see more titles in your future; Your league will not survive many more years with such archaic lineup choices because only a few teams can compete when the supply of good backs is so limited. Forcing good owners to start backups when they have starters at other positions that could ensure actual weekly competition in 16 team leagues will only make good owners leave since they know how to build teams in a multitude of ways when the field isn't based so much on luck at a single position.

FYI,
I wasn't the only one that knew of this death flaw in large leagues. Like anything though the few owners and commish who had the hoard of RB's needed a competitive advantage without really understanding run and shoot concepts as the NFL has been transitioning to a passing league.

I here the excuses but it would be interesting to see these two former owners RB stable knowing they must start 2 every single week especially compared to yours.

Trey Lance was drafted by the 49ers and that changed everything for most

All of his flaws were overlooked and he wasn't treated with the skepticism small school prospects normally are because an actually smart organization sold the house to draft him

Their weapons were assumed to give him a decent enough passing floor to keep him as the starter while his legs score fantasy points

I don't agree completely but this is why

Also to a lesser extent Lance was 20 from a small school/small town and raw--which is more okay than being 23 and raw like Willis (after having played at a top high school and SEC school where the coaches could not make him less raw)

This. Plus the 49ers spent 3 firsts on Lance. He's going to have a lot of rope, and the 49ers are bringing him in slowly, with what appears to be a concise, practical plan, with a guy at HC who is widely known for being one of the best offensive minds in the game. The age thing is huge, too. Lance dominated his level of competition as a teenager, Willis didn't find any sort of success until he was 21.

I donno so someone can tell me? I have seen Willis mocked at pick 11 to pick 32. Did Lance swing that far? Its crazy to see some have him QB1 and others QB6 or even later. Seems like the NFL, "draft experts" and fantasy players are all very mixed on him.

He had about the same total range just much higher, pick 2 all the way to the 20s. Between qb2 and 5 in that class. Generally viewed as qb4 until the 9ers took him

There were narratives before the year that he would unseat Lawrence at #1. After the year, since he didn't play much, that was no longer the case. There were also talks Fields would be the first QB taken. I think generally he was viewed right around the 3rd best QB last year. Overall ADP for 1 QB leagues was mid to early 2nd depending on team needs. Lawrence was sliding in the mid-end of the first.

Geez. Must have been a slow news day and starving for clicks. I don't think anybody with a strong grasp of the college game thought any of this. I am lower and have been on Lawrence than most for a few years, but even I knew this wasn't happening. Willis played 10 games last year, too. He played plenty. I don't think anybody seriously thought Lawrence wasn't going to be the first QB taken, and if they did, they deserve a pay cut, at the very least. Lawrence was as locked in a pick as it gets for years.

I agree with that, just rumblings. I never said my opinion was he would over take him.
