Non-PPR, so RBs usually go pretty high. Not SF, but owners tend to hoard the QBs, there is rarely a decent one floating around to pick up. Manziel was a head scratcher even back then. My 1-2 was Watkins and Evans depending on where they landed, and they both landed in shitty situations. That 1.11 was mine too, I thought Jordan Matthews was going to be a genius pick.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 5:05 pmI wasn't playing Dynasty back then, but how the hell do Sankey and West go over Evans? Look at the rest of the first round that year:
1.01 Watkins
1.02 Johnny Manziel
1.03 Bishop Sankey
1.04 Terrence West
1.05 Mike Evans
1.06 Carlos Hyde
1.07 Eric Ebron
1.08 Brandin Cooks
1.09 Blake Bortles
1.10 Odell Beckham
1.11 Jordan Matthews
1.12 Kelvin Benjamin
Didn't really go well for most owners.
1 Watson
2 Evans
3 OBJ
That year and in that order.

Re: Sammy Watkins might sit out 2020
Matthews was a solid pick at the time, and was looking like he would easily justify that pick if not make it look like a steal early on, then injuries took their toll, it happens.
Even non-PPR thise WRs were clearly better than any RB that year, and hoarding or over drafting QBs in 1QB leagues is still a losing strategy.

My first orphan rebuild turned around with that draft.
1.2- Evans (Watkins went 1.1, guy paid a fortune to jump ahead of me)
1.3- B Cooks
2.7- Terrance West
2.10- Landry
Ebron, Kelvin Benjamin, Davante Adams, Allen Robinson were all taken before the end of the 2nd. Strong draft.

Re: Sammy Watkins might sit out 2020
This sure seems like Watkins knows he is getting cut this year, heck he is a overrated WR but he ain't stupid! So instead of the disgrace of getting cut, he wants it to be perceived that he is walking away on his terms.
How much do you think he'd command on the open market? 8 million? That's good money, but an insult to these rich athletes that think they are worth top dollar.

Re: Sammy Watkins might sit out 2020
In my leagues it went 1) Watson, 2) Evans. Sankey was like 6-10.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Davante Adams fell to me at 1.11 that year. Drafting is such a crapshoot.Walter W. wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 4:42 pmI drafted him at 1.01 way back when, but traded him a few years ago. Idk his value is already a 3rd according to the masses. There were still Sammy owners a year ago saying they wouldn't sell for less than a 1sttrc wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 12:40 amCorey Davis will make a try at this...Jigga94 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:27 pmGotta be the longest book with the most blank pagesperkinsrooster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 3:18 pm Everyone who (rightly at the time) picked him at 1.01 will be happy to close this book.

I don't get how this is a negotiation tactic.
Sitting out only works when you have leverage and are trying to get a new contract.

I imagine it’s to make it clear that he won’t take a pay cut, or to stop KC from being able to trade him.Cult of Dionysus wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 5:48 am I don't get how this is a negotiation tactic.

Maybe he just wants to spend time with his family, smoke weed, and not get hit. I can see more players doing this. I expect to see shorter football careers in general.

I thought he was already sitting out in 2019...
Re: Sammy Watkins might sit out 2020
The guy in my league did and he's STILL holding him!
Lets just say he didn't enjoy my messages this season about the "true WR1 in TEN" when I started sending him the AJ Brown highlights in week 4...

Re: Sammy Watkins might sit out 2020
I can guarantee that you wouldn't have...it's very easy to say in hindsight you would've taken those guys, but Sankey and Hyde both had a ton of hype, and Manziel's rushing potential made him a rookie darling as well. Beckham's injury issues in training camp and preseason also dropped his rookie draft stock.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 5:05 pm I wasn't playing Dynasty back then, but how the hell do Sankey and West go over Evans?
