Jahvid Best reminds us of a young Brian Westbrook, and has the skill set to be the rare feature back in this league. Best isn't the biggest back, but he's a very willing (and capable) inside runner. He has the speed and explosiveness to get upfield in a hurry. Best is also a great receiving option out of the backfield because of his elusiveness. He or Ryan Mathews are the top rookie running backs to add to your fantasy squads this season.

Re: Best choice
The one thing that bothers me about all this is one nagging question... if the Lions truly believe Best is their feature back, why are they even bothering to use him at wide receiver? That's not usually something teams do with their "main man" at RB. Do they see him as more of a hybrid type a la Reg Bush, Cribbs, Hester, etc.?
He's exciting and talented, for sure, but if we believed every coach who raved about his prize rookie in OTAs, they'd need to put on a pretty significant addition at the Hall of Fame in Canton...

Re: Best choice
They did this with westbrook too, put him in the slot, same with Jamaal Charles and other PPR type backs. Its the nature of the game and they play to their strengths as the league is becoming more passer friendly than ground and pound!jnormy wrote:The one thing that bothers me about all this is one nagging question... if the Lions truly believe Best is their feature back, why are they even bothering to use him at wide receiver?
