So, I’m guessing we can pretty much ignore S2 scores going forward?

There’s been a lot of talk about it the past couple years and whether or not it should factor into evaluations.CGW wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 5:40 amDidn't we always?BabyChark23 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:54 pm So, I’m guessing we can pretty much ignore S2 scores going forward?
I certainly over valued it between Bryce and CJ. I didn’t count it as a Bryce will be good but more of a weed out slow processing speeds. Apparently I was completely wrongBabyChark23 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 1:14 pmThere’s been a lot of talk about it the past couple years and whether or not it should factor into evaluations.CGW wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 5:40 amDidn't we always?BabyChark23 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:54 pm So, I’m guessing we can pretty much ignore S2 scores going forward?
Just saw something else that shows another level of how what he's doing is so phenomenal. That he's doing it as a rookie is mind-boggling.
Only QBs to lead the NFL in pass yards per game and TD-INT ratio through the first 10 weeks of a season since the 1970 merger:
('23) C.J. Stroud
('19) Patrick Mahomes
('15) Tom Brady
('13) Peyton Manning
Little surprised on how fast he stepped up, but he seems like a top 5 QB at this point and not talking only in Dynasty!Jigga94 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:59 am The TD to Dell was a thing of beauty. More like CJ Stroud and Dimes.
That sack that he took a minute to get up from was also Roughing the Passer, but wasn't called. I thought the NFL wanted to protect their best QBs... I wonder what makes Stroud different. Then he comes back and rips a pass on 3rd and 17 for a 1st. Stud
One of my friends called me Saturday and asked if, for week 11, he should start CJS over Mahomes in 1QB. At first I was like but then I thought about it and I was like .gpaok wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 10:56 amLittle surprised on how fast he stepped up, but he seems like a top 5 QB at this point and not talking only in Dynasty!Jigga94 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 7:59 am The TD to Dell was a thing of beauty. Is S2 the new 10-yard dash?BabyChark23 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:54 pm So, I’m guessing we can pretty much ignore S2 scores going forward?
Who cares about his weekly finishes, he’s 6th in QB points per game right now.frerichs5 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:03 pm I’ll start by saying I think Stroud has been great this year, way better than I thought he would coming out. Personally I’d have him in the 6-8 range for dynasty rankings.
That said, you’d think he’s lighting the world on fire when in reality he’s been a backend QB1 (which is great for a rookie in my opinion). Here’s his fantasy finishes by week:
22, 13, 12, 10, 17, 12, Bye, 23, 1, 9, 12 (pending MNF)
I think we’re going a little overboard (current season start/sit) if we are considering starting him over the elite guys.
Dynasty…absolutely. Love how he looks right now.
I mean, if I’m looking at a weekly lineup…I do. Consistency means nothing? Congrats on one week getting him up to QB6 ppg I guess?Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:07 pmWho cares about his weekly finishes, he’s 6th in QB points per game right now.frerichs5 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:03 pm I’ll start by saying I think Stroud has been great this year, way better than I thought he would coming out. Kind of ironic this was originally about CJ Stroud vs Mahomes being close enough to consider it and they are less than 1 point apart above lolfrerichs5 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:38 pmI mean, if I’m looking at a weekly lineup…I do. For fun, QBs without their best week:
Hurts 23.15
Herbert 20.62
Allen 20.24
Purdy 18.54
Tua 18.10
Mahomes 18.08
Howell 18.04
Prescott 17.93
Lamar 17.82
Stroud 17.13
I’m not trying to crap on Stroud. Like I said, I think he’s been great. Just saying I’m not considering starting him over the other elite options at this point (start/sit this year) as the previous couple posts indicated. If you are, nothing wrong with that.
