I think it is way too early to start ranking now, and much will depend on independent league economies.wickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:42 pm So in Superflex are we saying:
1.01 Williams
1.02 Harrison
1.03 Maye
1.04 Nabers
1.05 Bowers
1.06 Daniels/Odunze?
I think this is right. My guess is Bowers falls out of the top-6 in most non-TEP SF leagues. TE is pretty risky. I'll take that risk in a TEP but probably not in standard PPR. But let's see where he lands.MacDaddy123 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 10:55 pm I could see Odunze bumping Bowers out of that tier depending on landing spots and if non-TEP league.
i'm here too. I have the 1.07/08 in a SF, I'm pretty much convinced I'll be staring down this "generational unicorn TE prospect". He'll be hard to pass up, but then my brain will be doing the "you know better" thing. If there's a concensus QB in the ranks right behind him, like JJM or Nix or Penix I'll prob go that route easy. but if it's Bowers or the WR3/4ish, my brain might divide itself in twotstafford wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 4:00 amI think this is right. Will be interesting to see for sure. There is a large segment of the dynasty community that wants nothing to do with taking any TE early in a rookie draft. But you could be right that the hype will overcome it.Cameron Giles wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:15 am The Bowers hype will be too strong for him to fall out the Top-6 in this class. It's very wishful. Sure, there's risk involved, but at the end of the day Bowers is more unique than any player in this class not named Harrison or Nabers. You can get a good WR in any class these days.
The FOMO on another possible top TE is going to be too much to pass up. Although I'd like to hear Bronco Billy's take on Bowers. He is special, but I can see him missing out on some in-line plays.tstafford wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:28 amWill be interesting to see for sure. It's funny. I really thought I was one of the highest folks out there on Bowers. Took him two drafts ago in a devy league. But I guess I'm sort of more in the middle or low on him for PPR/non-TEP.YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:39 amThe FOMO on another possible top TE is going to be too much to pass up. How far down is Ja'Tavion Sanders compared to Bowers?
I'd have a hard time not taking him above the WRs listed above. He's a potential difference maker at a tough position to find difference makers and will have much higher draft capital than any of those WRs when all is said and done. There are some landing spots I'd want nothing to do with, but if I am presented with a choice of Bowers or Coleman, I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing at this point.nathanq42 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:26 am A lot of my perception of Bowers is going to be dependent on draft capital and landing spot - Duh... But there is so little predictability regarding TEs coming into the league, the things that I think are important to aim for are (in no particular order):
1) Athleticism
2) Production and advanced metrics (YPRR, overall production, etc)
3) Path to targets (Only really works if the TE is a top 2 option unless youre in a wildly explosive offense (Kittle in SF who honestly hasnt been nearly as productive with the emergence of both Ayuik and Deebo, but it could also be the toll that his injuries have taken | Julian Thomas with the Broncos)
4) Coach (without an offensively creative coach youre going to have your highly touted TE wasted - Ebron, Pitts, JHow, Fant, Minn Hock, etc)
Right now it is too early to say, but in a vacuum I think it is safe to say skill wise he belongs in the T3 WR group (Coleman, Egbuka, Brian Thomas, Franklin, etc)
Bowers is an all-time great TE prospect and a complete player. Sanders is more in line with the middle range of the Day 2 TEs from last year. It's a pretty steep drop.YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:39 amThe FOMO on another possible top TE is going to be too much to pass up. I can't wait for you to pencil in picks 1-10 just for it all to change by the time the draft passeswickerkat1212 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:57 am How much does your ranking of Bowers change in a Superflex 2TEP league? I'd happily take him at 1.06 if he's there.
Harrison
Williams
Maye
Nabers
Bowers
Odunze/Daniels
