Roy Helu
What are owners doing with him? He isn't getting any opportunities with the Raiders and hasn't done anything significant in a long time. Do people still think he can do something? I am getting tempted to drop him soon, but I have had him for so long, I would hate to watch him have success on someone else's team...

Re: Roy Helu
At best he's a 3rd down back with sporadic PPR value. If you're holding for that, by all means do so, but it's not even a relatively high ceiling.

I'm stuck in the same situation in a couple leagues. He's a drop if you can find someone you like better.

Re: Roy Helu
This was my biggest swing and miss of the year, I own him everywhere. Most rosters are large enough to carry him still, but he's gone from the smaller ones.

I missed on him big time too.
I have no idea why though.
Murray has not been great and there is no one notable behind Murray.

Re: Roy Helu
Own Murray and dropped Helu awhile ago. Not sure what happened in Oakland, but it's clear he's not in their plans. I doubt you'll ever see anything notable from him at this point.
Re: Roy Helu
I tentatively plan to pick him back up Week 16, before rosters lock for the offseason. I'll drop my compliment D/ST to make room.
Musgrave clearly has no use for Helu. Arbitrarily hasn't liked him virtually since day one.
So I'm wondering if Oakland might release him this offseason. Helu has no dead-cap penalty in 2016.
I still think Helu could be very good as some team's lead or even feature back. Texans, Browns, Giants, Titans, Cowboys, and Colts could be shopping for a new starting RB. If the Jets let Ivory go in free-agency, Helu would be well suited to a Gailey offense. Baltimore's Trestman offense would be an ideal fit for his skill-set if they have any doubts about Forsett, and I suspect Helu is more talented than Buck Allen. Detroit might be interested in him as a Joique Bell replacement.

Re: Roy Helu
I still own him in leagues where I own Latavius, but otherwise I have dropped him. Helu is on a 2 year contract so I don't see him becoming fantasy relevant in the off-season. I would rather take a shot on someone like Stevan Ridley who will change teams. Drop Helu and pick him up mid-season 2016.
Re: Roy Helu
I dropped him earlier this year as they don't seem to want to use him but I expect him to have at least one late career year (or part of a year) where he has Fred Jackson or Justin Forsett like resurgence because he's always looked good even when given the opportunity to carry the load and he'll get an opportunity at some point. That might be a couple years down the road though and is entirely circumstantial so I'm just keeping him on WW speed dial.
