Was offered calvin for my shady and manny sanders.... This thread is making me think i should accept! Not trying to hijack the thread. For what its worth i own cobb too and wouldnt trade him for calvin straight up.

I certainly understand the respect for Calvin. No doubt he's a hall of famer. But this isn't even close. Cobb is a stud and he's younger and while both have solid QB's, Cobb simply plays in a better offense with a better QB. Calvin will be 30 in September and will probably start winding down at some point. I would be trying to trade Calvin for Cobb, especially with your roster already being solid. And I wouldn't hesitate to even over pay a little. This is just me thinking here but I'm going with Cobb although I understand if you stick with Calvin.

While I appreciate Cobb, he is by no means a "Stud" in any way, shape, or form. He is the product of playing with ARod, similar to what Welker was for many years in NE. Studs are able to put up points and be the #1 guy regardless of situation, and Cobb surely isn't that. Calvin is a stud, but an aging stud. If you want to pick Cobb over Calvin based on that, I won't blame you. But please stop referring to Cobb as a Stud...

Thanks.

I don't see why Cobb shouldn't be considered a "stud" WR. He came close to 1,000 yards and double digit TDs in his sophomore season in 2012. He most likely would've had his breakout year in 2013 were it not for the knee injury. Even if we were to assume that Cobb isn't an elite talent and that his production is solely a product of playing with Rodgers, Cobb will be playing with Rodgers through 2018, so it doesn't really matter. His production is basically locked in for the next 4 seasons barring injury to himself or Rodgers.

I see Calvin as a top notch WR1 and I see Cobb as a top flight WR2 so needless to say I dont agree with the deal.

Ebron, tate and Abdullah factor into this quite a bit. Two of them are massive unknowns and tate is unlikely to repeat what he did last year. Should be an interesting thread to re-visit come week 10.

I am a huge Cobb fan, but I am taking Calvin if I am competing for the championship over the next few years. Last year was much closer to the ceiling for Cobb than his floor. He will still be the WR2 for GB but Adams will take more touches. The production potential for slot players is limited when compared to the "wide" receivers. Calvin's ceiling is just so much higher even at age 30. Cobb's numbers from last year are similar to what Calvin's floor is if he plays the entire year.

Give me the monster who succeeds despite of his QB... You can keep the guy who if he would have gone to Oakland, would have been a WR3 at best.

As a diehard Packer fan and Cobb owner I have to go with C.J for the next year or two to win now but Cobb for a rebuild .. I don't think C.Js numbers will be a crazy amount more than Cobb though even if he plays all 16

My projections if both stay healthy is

CJ 95-1500-15
Cobb 100-1400-10
(1) 12 Team, QB 1.5 PPRushingYard, TE 1.5 PPR
QB-K.Murray, B.Mayfield, D.Watson
RB-R.White, D.Swift
WR-T.Hill, D.Samuel, M.Pittman, M.Brown, J.Jeudy, J.Addison, R.Moore, J.Tolbert
TE-T.McBride, D.Njoku

(2) 12 Team, 1 PPR
QB-J.Hurts, B.Purdy
RB-J.Mixon, I.Pacheco, R.White A.Mattison, C.Akers
WR-T.Hill, M.Brown, C.Olave, DJ.Moore J.Hyatt
TE-M.Andrews, J.Ferguson

(3) 12 Team, .15 PPCarry, WR 1.25 PPR, TE 2 PPR
QB-L.Jackson, G.Smith
RB-J.Jacobs, I.Pacheco, Z.White, D.Laube
WR-C.Lamb, P.Nacua, AJ.Brown, M.Pittman, X.Legette
TE-D.Njoku, D.Waller

(4) 14 Team SF, .2 PPCarry, TE 1.65 PPR

this is what happens with age. funny when calvin was only a year younger people laughed at comparrasions like this

sure calvin is older but cobb isnt half the player calvin is. cobb is an inflated slot wr because of rodgers
