Josh Gordon Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Josh Gordon Trade

Give up Julius Thomas and Cecil Shorts for Josh Gordon?
Or
Give up Julius Thomas for a 2014 1st round pick (proabably top 5)?

Recieving Core:
Dez
Welker
Amendola
Shorts
Givens
Randle

Seems like a high price for Gordon to me. I would think something more like a Thomas for Gordon trade. Even then I would want to get a more stable WR if I was trading Thomas. I'm not high on trading talent for future draft choices. Unless his roster is a total disaster.

I would happily give up Thomas and Shorts for Gordon. i think Gordon is a top 10 dynasty wr. Thomas is great, but this is the very definition of capitalizing on hype and selling high.

That being said, I probably wouldn't give up Thomas for a 2014 1st

I'd probably do either deal, but I'd have to be confident about the 2014 1st being early.

I would easily do either with the Gordon deal being my preference

Same here except I would have to be confident about the 1st round pick. Thomas is a TE, other then Gronk and Graham, they are a dime a dozen

Has Thomas's value really skyrocketed that much after one game? We all remember Kevin Ogletree's game one last year where he scored in the 20s and then disappeared the rest of the year. Dreesen will be back healthy soon too and should take some snaps from him. Plus he's still not a good blocker either. I would need to see more than one game before I'm moving someone like Josh Gordon for him, who's at least produced over a full season.

If I didn't need Thomas at all I would probably do the trade of Thomas/Shorts for Gordon as well

No, the 800 yards and 5 TDs last year when he hadn't played football for a year did it for me. Combine that with the new downfield passing scheme, and I'm all in

I think maybe you misunderstood me. I'm a huge Gordon fan. I'm questioning Thomas's value here after just one game.

And Gordon is one mistake away from a year long suspension. I wouldn't make these deals.

I like Thomas's upside but this was just 1 game. Give me the Gordon side easily.
