DJax, WR1 or WR2?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJax, WR1 or WR2?

Postby FF_Magz » Tue Jul 30, 2013 4:13 pm

Currently I have DJax as my WR3 on my team behind Cruz and Amendola. When healthy I even have Crabtree a head of DJax. What is his true value? WR2 im figuring.

I think you're better off holding until the season starts if you're looking to sell DeSean. I think he is in for a nice bounce back season and even though a lot of people are expecting that as well, they don't want to pay much for him. If I had to put a market tag value on him, I'd say people are valuing him at a low WR3-High WR4 level right now but I think he could post mid WR2 numbers

DJax has very little trade value right now. Meaning his production is worth more than what you'll probably get from him. He's a boom or bust WR who's numbers have steadily declined the past couple years. Plus he has some injury issues of his own. WRs like this just don't hold much value in PPR leagues.

I couldn't get anything for him and wanted him off my roster, so I sold him a week before the Maclin injury :( I think his value gets a small bump because of Maclin, but PHI is going to still be a run heavy team with subpar QB play IMO. I just don't like rostering WRs like DJax.

WR1.5

This could end up hurting him as Defenses know he's the legitimate deep threat unless someone like Cooper or Johnson steps up..... I'm not a fan of DJax though, but he is the Eagles unquestioned WR1 right now though....

He is still a WR3 in my books with WR2 upside. The offense is run heavy, and while Chip should funnel the opportunities that would have gone to Maclin, I still think Jax is limited in what he can do effectively. I don't know if he nets that much more with Maclin gone because teams can focus on him. Unless someone comes at him strong with a WR2 offer I would hold for upside. A WR2 offer I would sell while the going is good.

I traded Cordarrelle Patterson for Jackson and a 2014 1st a couple weeks ago. I have no faith in MIN offense even though I loved Patterson's physicality in college. I made the move because this year I had Crabtree go down and figure with Chip Kelly who the hell knows what that offense is going to look like. I own McCoy on that same fantasy team so I feel good about that.

I have three 1st rounders for 2014 and one looks like the early favorite for 1.01. I made the move for 1st round pick power come next draft, I would have some bargaining chips to land some key players or if its a Julio/AJ Green/TRich/Luck type player coming out I have draft power in that regard.

In the meantime, Cordarrelle to DJax, I don't think it was a significant drop this year, hell maybe not even next year.

DJax is an explosive WR3. He'll surprise you from time-to-time, but mostly just kind of bleh.

WR3 with a couple of nice games per season. Seeing as how Maclin is injured though, I would elevate him to WR2 standards.

DJax is good for a couple games, but in no way should be considered more than a WR2. And that is almost a stretch to me.

I have had him on a roster for a few years now and can say with conviction you hope to have better consistency from someone you really need to count on.

I agree. His scoring trends are just to volatile for me to deal with. If he had more upside I may be ok with the risk, but I think his upside is a WR2. DJax may win you a game or two, but he'll lose you some games too. Id rather have safer, more consistent production out of my WR3/WR4 and let my studs carry me to a win.
