What do you guys think of Fitz there? Might you have gone with a younger WR?

Jets1Zero wrote:Possibly. I feel there are far less negotiations happening and far more sitting around waiting for someone to want to trade up to your spot going on. I'm guilty of it too, as I wanted to trade down a few spots at the 2.2 Because Julio, Dez, and DThomas were all still on the board, so I told everyone I was going to wait for abit, but I see that happening a lot to very little success.
I think that's right. I hedged by saying "trade negotiations/solicitations", but the solicitations are really slowing things down. I've played the waiting game a bit too, but my average draft time is still under 30 minutes. (And I've actually completed a trade.)

10 teams have picked since Fitz went off the board. None has taken a WR. That looks like the end of a tier to me.

If Fitz had fallen just a bit farther, I would have traded up farther than I actually did and taken him. As Jules said, he was the end of a tier, and I think he will rebound big this year. I am not worried about his age, as he's not -that- old.

Brian D.
Why does D Wilson at 2.10, baffle you? What other RB are you going to take there? I was almost going to take Fitzgerald and probably should have but that is the only other player I could see taking there. QB is waaaay to deep and Gronk is going to miss games in the beginning of the year.

Wait until you see my 3.03 pick hahaha
The nature of this draft has steered me away from taking guys who have yet to prove anything this early. Normally, in Dynasty I would fully understand taking Wilson and Miller early on (well, Wilson at least. Miller is till really questionmarky IMO) but since we can't afford to not make the playoffs every year (top 5 if Tim and Jarrett don't make the playoffs) I think taking a guy who MAY be the starter (could be in a RBC with Brown this year) is a bit risky with your second round pick, especially when you take a guy who is in pretty much the same situation, but is less talented in round 3. I'm not saying Wilson won't be an effective RB2 guy, I just wouldn't want to roll the dice in round 2 when it could mean expulsion from the league in the first year. Just my 2 cents.
I agree with what your saying, they are both boom or busts moves. Both will be giving the opportunity to be the #1 and I think both will be very productive in those roles. Wilson will get vultrued in goal-line situations though.

Through four rounds (minus one pick from Tim & Jarrett):

Most lopsided teams:
John K. -- Doug Martin; Chris Johnson; D. Murray; M. Ball
Brian D. -- Cam Newton; B. Marshall; Roddy White; Jimmy Graham

I don't hate either of these teams. Will be interesting to see how each one comes together.

My favorite team so far (other than my own):
Dan W. -- Peterson; Forte; Sproles; Jordy

Not happy to be drafting right next to Dan. I predict that he's going to snipe me on several picks.

Haha. Not sure how my team is 'lopsided'. I've got a top-3 (in our format) QB, WR, and TE. And so far a top-12 WR to add to that. Seems like some nice depth through three of the four positions.. If I go WR/WR at the 5-6 turn, then it'll be lopsided. We'll see who's available!

I agree with Brian. Not sure I see his team as being "lopsided." Other than his lack of RB, his team is very balanced. RB value was just not there when he was OTC. He went with BPA. Just my opinion.

As far teams that are not myself go, I like Jimmy's team a lot: AJ, Cobb, Gronk, Bernard. If Gronk recovers quickly, that is a crazy good core.

I also like Brian D.'s strategy of going safe. The downside is a complete lack of RBs, but that core is undeniably rock solid.

In the end, it puts the onus on me to be active. I have to basically get on everybody's nerves with my trade offers, and keep an eye on the waiver wire like it's my new born baby. Wish me luck!

I didn't feel like I passed on any WR's, just didn't have any good ones on the board when it was my time.

Team I like the most: Eric S. Through five picks... next year those could all be 1st or 2nd rounders.
Jeff Y, amazingly solid through four.

Will be fun to watch things unfold.

There was just a 10-in-a-row WR run. About time!

The RBs have been crazy. I really like the team with McCoy/Wilson/Miller/Nicks/Gordon. Very solid.

Curious to when the QB run starts!
