I won my league last year with a pretty nice group of players that I could possibly keep, but I can only hang on to two. Our league rules only allow us to keep players for ONE season, so long term value doesn't matter...it's only this upcoming season.
It's a standard PPR scoring league. Here are my options (and the round of pick they would cost)...
1QB/2RB/2WR/1FLEX/1TE
2nd round - Brandon Marshall
3rd round - Percy Harvin
4th round - Aaron Hernandez
5th round - Matt Ryan
6th round - Pierre Garcon
7th round - Jason Witten
9th round - Colin Kaepernick
11th round - Michael Crabtree
Colin Kaepernick is currently my top choice to keep, as QBs go very early in our league and he presents great value at his cost. Crabtree also presents fantastic value, but I'm not sure if I want to keep two 49ers.
I have also thrown out an offer to the person who owns CJ Spiller (as a 6th round keeper) to attempt to acquire him for Percy Harvin and Matt Ryan, since Spiller is his only good keeper option. Assuming that deal doesn't go down, who would you go with and why?

With their draft round values taken into consideration, I think your clear-cut choices are:
Colin Kaepernick - Round 9
Michael Crabree - Round 11 **insane value especially if your league has PPR scoring

It is PPR, but I feel like I'm putting a lot of my eggs in the 49ers basket by doing this. I am a value guy, and won big by keeping Marshawn Lynch as a 7th rounder over Lesean McCoy as a 1st rounder last season (which I was ripped for by my league at the time).DoggieOG wrote:With their draft round values taken into consideration, I think your clear-cut choices are:

If you are the value guy, kaep and crabtree is the obvious choice. Niners will be fine and crabtree step up big time once they put in kaep as you should know. Everyone else value looks horrible due to the value or injury/team concerns.

Re: Help me choose two keepers
Value wise this is the way to go. Although IMO it's not a very exciting start. I'd be interested to see what players you can trade for, from strong teams who have 3-4 strong keeper options and are unable to keep them due to the one year rule. I'd do whatever it took to move into some bargains, while moving up a few rounds and simultaneously increasing the tiers your players are selected from.DoggieOG wrote:With their draft round values taken into consideration, I think your clear-cut choices are:
