Outlandish? Detroit has gone on record stating they plan to puruse playmakers on offense via the draft AND free agency. Talk about an acquisition. I think he would bring the playmaking element they lost in Jahvid.

Man I dont think Austin goes in the top 5. If they were to trade down then maybe that would make sense. But they need OL help and Eric Fisher should be there.

Nah, that's what they signed Bush for.

Can't see them taking a WR in the first, they have too many other needs that are more important.

If they were to draft a WR early, I'd imagine they go after someone in the 2nd like Justin Hunter, Da'Rick Rodgers, Terrance Williams, or Quinton Patton to lineup on the outside opposite Calvin, creating a core of let's say.... Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson, Da'Rick Rodgers, Ryan Broyles,Brandon Pettigrew, Reggie Bush/Mikel LeShoure. Matthew Stafford owners would be

Maybe a 3rd-5th round receiver like Josh Boyce, Kenny Stills, Aaron Dobson, Marquess Wilson, or Marcus Davis.

Not even a chance. They don't have one tackle on their roster and their CB's are terrible. They wouldn't take a guy at that size in the top 5 with all the needs they have. If they want him, they'd be trying to trade up with their 2nd and probably a future 1st and even then I highly doubt it.

 and there is no way the lions draft austin, not only would he be a huge reach at 5 but they have much bigger needs at CB, DE and OT, especially after losing both their 2012 starters at the latter two positions.

I agree with others that have them taking OT in the first.

Wrong WVU WR. They're taking Stedman Bailey.

I doubt they take a WR that high, but since I sold Broyles in a trade to aquire Hilton I really hope they do. :)

I don't see any way DET takes anything but an OT unless they trade down.

Agreed. EIther Dee Milliner or a tackle, possibly Lane Johnson. Doubt Fisher or Joeckel fall that far.

I like Bailey a lot. That would be a nice move.

Not likely to happen. The old Detroit Lions would have done it but not anymore.

I can see the 9ers trading up to get him. With their plethora of picks, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a move up the draft to land a coveted player like Austin.
