Rank These RBs for me!

Postby balaberda » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:46 am

Need some feedback on these three. I am close to making a move for one of them for a playoff run.

Matthews
Charles
Lynch

Please rank and explain!

Lynch

I wouldn't pay the price that will likely be wanted for the other two.

Lynch - every week consistant starter and producer. Still young (26) and a focal point of a run first / defensive oriented team in an improving division.
Charles - explosive, homerun hitter that if used properly can put up good numbers against tough matchups.

Mathews - has good skill set and is young, but has had multiple injury concerns coupled with fumblitus, and a coach that simply has no clue how to utilize him. Plus... he hasn't practiced this whole week.... Seriously NORV?

Man, I got drilled because my views on Mathews were not in line with the masses and I didn't think he was "a lock" for top 5 rb rankings several months ago. I'm waiting on the appologies fellas. Or... is Mathews still a top 5 dynasty rb? Top 10 sure, top 5; Sorry.

* Reality (as defined by Webster's dictionary) - A word for things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional ideal of them.

Hah... no apology from me. I'm not sure he's a top 10 really.... maybe he's close.

I apologize if this highjacks the thread, but lets say you're sitting on the outside of the playoff mix and you could deal one of them. What guy would be at the top of your list?(as the most desirable guy to get rid of)

The way I look at it is Lynch might be the guy I'm most willing to trade, followed by Charles, then Mathews. Only because of history and their potential.
10-team, Superflex, PPR, performance, 25-man roster
QB(Start 1-2): L.Jackson, S.Darnold, D.Carr
RB(2-3): J.Mixon, M.Mack, C.Edwards-Helaire, J.Taylor, J.K.Dobbins, A.J.Dillon, Z.Moss, L.Miller, , Ja.Williams, G.Bernard
WR(3-4): D.Hopkins, A.Cooper, A.Theilen, K.Golloday, C.Davis, L.Fitzgerald, Z.Pascal, M.Boykin
TE(1-2): D.Njoku, D.Waller
'21 - 1,4

If I'm needing a guy to count on to make a playoff push then I would go Lynch - more consistent and dependable. However, if Charles gets hot, his ceiling is much higher than Lynch's imo and could take a borderline team that needs a playmaker into contention.

Mathews I just wouldn't trade for in that position, because as already stated, his price is too high - combined with no guarantee that he'll be healthy when you need him - and makes him I'm not looking at unless he's coming cheap.

My personal preference of the three overall, in terms of future production and overall talent would go:
1.Charles
2.Mathews
3.Lynch

Thanks guys. Ya I see Charles as more Beast or Bust and Lynch as solid.

Might try and make a move for Lynch and pair him up with Spiller for a run. It depends what he wants though.

The only problem with Lynch is he doesn't catch a lot of passes, so he's limited in a PPR league.
