Building for the Future

Postby xlote » Thu Nov 15, 2012 11:04 am

I needed a QB of the future as mine is getting up there, and the same with my WRs. I made the trade below and was able to keep a good RB situation intact.

Give Cobb (hated to part with him) and Daryl Richardon
Get Tannehill, Michael Floyd and R. Randle.

What do you think?

1qb or 2 QB league? If its a 1 QB league, no offense, but you got housed. Drich and Cobb are as sexy as 2013 gets IMO.

QB: Bryce Young, Jared Goff, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Stetson Bennett.

I don't like it. You could have had Tannehill for way cheaper.

I am also not a huge fan of this deal... Cobb feels like best player in the deal by far.

If it's a 1 QB league, Cobb and D Rich could have netted you a far better QB in return that was also young. If that was the best you could get I would have just passed all together on moving Cobb, or waited until the off-season next year for his price to inflate if Jennings leaves.

Ouch is all I have to say about that. Tannehill actually just hit the WW in my 12 team dynasty league.

Ehh, I think that says more about that league in particuliar then his trade. Tannehill should be rostered in every dynasty format right now and there wouldn't be any good reasons to drop him.

You're probably feeling sick about the trade if you watched Tannehill play tonight. :silent:

Not at all.

I watch players as much or more than I go by stats or opportunity (when looking for prosepects). Tannehill looks like an NFL QB to me. His WRs should be 3 & 4, not 1 & 2. His TE should be a back-up. His RBs should be a 2 & 3 instead of a 1 & 2. The O-line needs one or two pieces added. Slap a GB uniform on him and how would he look? With a few years experience and adding talent around him, I like his chances.

Also, to me Randle looks like an NFL WR (probably a WR2). Richardson, I believe will always be an RB3. If Pead's not the answer, the Rams will find another RB. I like Floyd's chance also.

Terrible trade regardless of what you think about the guys you got. Cobb is a top 10 dynasty WR, IMO, and should have netted you someone like Stafford, not Tannehill. I've also seen Richardson go for a 1st (I don't agree he's worth that but he went for it).

Even if what you believe about the players you received is true, Cobb alone should have gotten you them. Sorry to pile on, but this is pretty bad.

I agree about D Rich's value beinjg possibly as high as ever will be over last few weeks (prior to last weekend obv) and I agree Tannerhill will be just fine and likely to be very good FF QB in the future but more importantly I agree that Cobb is a fantastic dynasty asset and the best player in this trade by a fair distance.
Re; dynasty QB's - the recent crop of young players has, IMHO, made a star QB in a 12 team league a lot easier to get hold of, the simple truth is that in a league of that size there's really no reason why everyone can't eiether have one or have a player who's moving towards becoming one.....

Sorry bud but personally I don't like giving up Cobb for that at all....
