Jarius Wright

What is the general take on him in dynasty leagues? How do his prospects compare to other rookie WRs, such as Sanu, Randle, Marvin Jones, Hilton, etc?

In my opinion, Wright is the very rare WR handcuff. Normally we think of handcuffs as RBs, but I think that the Wright/Harvin situation fits the definition as well. Wright is basically a slightly less athletic Percy Harvin. He's the same size, same build, same skill set, just not quite as quick, fast, or strong. The Vikings even used him in nearly the same way. I doubt that the Vikings would use both Harvin and Wright at the same time, which means he only has real value if Harvin is injuried or ends up going to a different team. In either of those cases, he's definitely someone that should be rostered.

Comparables: Edelman two years ago. Jean this year. He's essentially a back-up specialty player, which I personally feel has little value unless the guy they're behind can be passed or is nearing their end with the team (Bowe or Welker for example). I don't see him as rosterable unless Harvin is out long-term or you're in a very deep league. I'd take every one of those guys you mentioned ahead of Wright by a fair bit.

I was worried about that offense's ability to support another receiving option and the "Harvin Handcuff" view really provides some perspective. I think it will be interesting to see how Wright is used when a healthy Harvin is lining up.

Harvin is extremely tough, and rarely misses games, so his handcuff doesn't have much appeal, unless you are a Harvin owner making a serious championship run this year. As a Vikings fan, I just hope he continues to develop to the point the Vikings feel they can get him on the field at the same time as Harvin. Lord knows this offense needs another playmaker to take heat off of Harvin.
