12 Team PPR Redraft question???

I have the 8th pick.

12 team PPR scoring.

1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DT/ST

There are a lot of scoring bonus'

TD's are worth 6, 9, and 12 depending on length, and multiply by 1.5 if a RB cathes a TD, WR runs one in, or a QB runs one in.

So as you can tell QB's score a ton.

AS far as I can tell our draft is going to go as follows;

Rodgers, Calvin, Brady, McCoy, Foster, Brees, and then Rice.

I do not love Matthews, but he seems like the obvious pick. I don't think Cam or Stafford will make it back to me in the 2nd.
Am I crazy to take Cam at 8?

The temptation is very strong to take Newton here, especially in a redraft. I think Matthews is my choice for the next RB as well, but I don't have a problem with you taking the QB here. The one thing holding me back on a strong recommendation is that you start 2 RBs, and it's always good to get stud RBs early and often in redraft.

While not a very strong recommendation here, I would say you would not be foolish in taking Newton at #8. I might prefer a RB here though simply due to scaricity at the position but that's not a really strong feeling either.

I don't love any of my choices here. I think if Matthews stays healthy he could be a top 3 player, but will he stay healthy?

I used to take a WR, but there are so many that are similar.

Mathews, C. Johnson

Andre Johnson, Larry Fitz

I am trying to move up. Even if it is to 7.

RB's are harder to come by this year. I would go with Mathews or C. Johnson. If you are worried about Mathews health take C. Johnson who I think will bounce back this year.

I'd hold off on Newton and go Mathews here. I think you can get decent value for a QB, even with the scoring system in a little later round.
