What are all you Steve Smith owners out there doing? Are you letting him ride until retirement or trying to get as much value out of him via trade as you can?
My dynasty team is built to win for next couple years, but I wonder if the value I would get in return wouldn't equate to what he will produce. He is old, but he doesn't seem to be aging or losing a step, either.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Roasted.
I would gladly take steve smith on my team but i admittedly wouldn't pay THAT much to get him there. I hink around 1:9 or 1:10 is about where you have to consider his value 2012 pick wise? Player for player? hmmm.... tough to say. name some players you'd consider trading him for and I can respond with who i think wins each deal and by how much.

I'm riding him into the ground like I did with Randy Moss.
Cant get appropriate/replacement value for him, so I think you ride it out.
Time to sell was a couple of years ago.

If he was on any of my teams, I would ride him into the ground at this point. His value is far less then his production

Re: Steve Smith - CAR
I traded him for Britt, so there is potential for movement, as they say with the Draft, "it only takes one." If a guy values Smith now and had a young piece he is willing to swap, perhaps something can work out. Generally speaking, I'd play him for a few more years because as mentioned above, the return value is unlikely to be there.

Re: Steve Smith - CAR
Unless you can swap him for a younger guy (which I don't think many will want to do), I'd ride him until he falters. Like Mr. Rourke said, the production he's going to give you is worth more than what you're likely to get in a trade. Besides, Cam is more likely to progress than regress -- just think how that combo's going to be for the next couple years.

Re: Steve Smith - CAR
If Carolina doesn't pick up another WR in the draft, you may be able to get a little more for Smith than you would today.
