It helps with pain tolerance, that's a massive reason a lot of athletes in particular like it. (Ditto for Cancer patients) It can also aid you in sleeping like a rock, and helps some with anxiety and nausea. (and appetite)

When the whole sport is about pushing your body past it's limits physically - and therefore being in a near-constant state of recovery - then it's little wonder that it's so popular among athletes of all disciplines.

Agreed.

Habaneros make the best tasting hot sauce. Throwing a bunch of random stuff on top of fries doesn't mean you call it "poutine".

Is Rice trying to sabotage his teammate to get back up the ranks?
Clever excuse for not showing up for practice.

Sure, but I think there’s a difference between something having benefit and being performance enhancing. Weed might have some benefits but it’s not making anyone bigger faster stronger or more focused on the field.

Josh Gordon might disagree, but sure. Not really arguing its status as a performance enhancing drug. More just elucidating why athletes use it, as it aids in recovery and pain tolerance - two things intrinsically linked to combat sports.

Well, yes, a drug/alcohol addict will actually perform better when on drugs or alcohol because of the withdrawal symptoms if they don’t. Doesn’t mean it’s a performance enhancer lol…
