Diggs & Hollywood.. Sign one Tag one

I have to sign 1 guy up to 4 years and tag 1 for just this year… I feel like obvious answer is sign diggs for 2 or 3 years but curious people opinions. Fyi I have to make this decision in 73 minutes lol.

I'm signing Hollywood and tagging Diggs, and it's a very easy decision for me to make.

I'm not sure Diggs has even one more T20WR season left in him, much less two or three more seasons.

I’d probably only go 2-3 years on Diggs…Hollywood is probably only in KC for a year

I’m more of less in line with this but I do think Diggs has 2 more years top 20 for sure.

I understand the sentimental value to aging studs. However ...

In 2023 ...
Of the T24WR, only two (Keenan and Adams) were playing in their age 31 season or older.
One of those two, Keenan, missed games we might attribute to age-related injuries.
Neither of the 31+ year olds were playing for the first time in a new offensive scheme, on a new team, with a new QB.

In 2022 ...
None of the T30WR were playing in their age 31 season or older.

In 2021 ...
None of the T24WR were playing in their age 31 season or older.

In 2020 ...
None of the T30WR were playing in their age 31 season or older.

And so on, and so on.

I'm not saying Diggs is positively absolutely NOT going to be somewhat useful to a fantasy contender in 2024. I'm just saying he would be one of the extremely rare examples of a WR producing a T20WR season during or after his age 31 season. Those are not odds I choose to bet on.

Usually, these older WRs hit the cliff and their production drops quickly in one year, then they spend another year or two rattling around near the fantasy nether regions before disappearing altogether. Based on how he closed the second half of 2023, my money is on this being the year Diggs' production falls precipitously.

There ya go…throwing stats into me “pouring one for my homey”. lol.

I will agree though that moving to a new team, new offense does pose a risk for production. That is really the only thing I’m worried about for the next 2 years.
