Trading for a Tight End

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trading for a Tight End

Postby Eagles13579 » Mon May 13, 2024 11:07 am

Trying to upgrade my tight end position and there are a couple of trades that I have been offered/discussed. Don't want to give up too much value, but know I need to upgrade from Kmet.

Trade 1
Give waddle
Get Mcbride + 2025 Mid 3rd

Trade 2
Give Waddle
Get Hockenson + 2025 Mid 3rd

Trade 3
Give Pacheco, Ford, 2025 1st
Get Kincaid

Trades 1 and 2 would be with the reigning champion. His TE's are Bowers, hock, and Mcbride. He currently has Lamb, Olave, Wilson as his top 3 receivers. The only reason I wouldn't want to make the trade with him is because I'd be strengthening his team.

Trade 3 is with a team that also has Laporta and Kelce. Do I just try to trade for Kelce since his asking price shouldn't be as much as kincaid?

Any thoughts would be great.
Qb - hurts, Howell
RB - Barkley, Bijan, Gibbs, Conner, Pacheco, Roschon, Allgeier, gainwell, J. Ford, C. Rodriguez,
WR - Chase, Jefferson, Puka, Waddle, D. Smith, Jayden Reed, Tyler Lockett, Michael Wilson, Iosivas, Noah Brown
TE - C. Kmet, Chiggy

12 Team .5 PPR, 1Qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 2 flex (rb, wr, te)

25 - 1st, 3rd
26 - All

Trade 1 is the only one that makes sense to me as they sit.

The last one seems fine, but I would probably try to change the 1st or pacheco for something else. For example, Roschon instead of Pacheco.
Team 1-
SF .5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 1SF, 2R, 2W, 1T, 3WRT)
QB- Richardson, Dak, Watson, Bennett, Zappe
RB- Achane, Mixon, Ekeler, Javonte Williams, Mostert, Dobbins, Gibson, Bigsby, Spears, Gainwell, Guerendo
WR- Chase, Lamb, London, Pittman, Odunze, Roman Wilson, QJ, Bateman, Shaheed, OBJ, Skyy
TE- Kincaid, Freiermuth, Chig, Fant, Musgrave, Woods, Bellinger

Team 2-
.5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 2 R, 3W, 1 T, 3 WRT)
QB: J. Allen, Stroud
RB: CMC, Bijan, Gibbs, JT, Breece Hall, Kamara, Gibson
WR: Diggs, Hill, AJB, Odunze, Aiyuk, London, JSN, BTJ, Hollywood, M.Mims, Meyers, Washington
TE: Kelce, Kyle Pitts, Dulcich

Team 3- (Adopted Dumpster Orphan)
.5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 2 R, 3W, 1 T, 3 WRT)
QB: J. Allen, Tua, Dak
RB: Gibbs, Hall, Achane, Jacobs, Warren, Bigsby, Dobbins, K. Mitchell, Dowdle
WR: Lamb, Wilson, Waddle, Olave, Nabers, London, Bateman, Wan'Dale, Javon Baker, Wicks, OBJ,
TE: Kittle, Kincaid, Woods, Stover

Thanks! When you trade, do you care how it helps your trade partner or are you just concerned about strengthening your own team?

I do what's best for me unless avoidable. In this situation you are getting most peoples dynasty TE1 and a 3rd on top. I wouldn't let who my trade partner is stop me from getting the best deal for my team personally.
Team 1-
SF .5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 1SF, 2R, 2W, 1T, 3WRT)
QB- Richardson, Dak, Watson, Bennett, Zappe
RB- Achane, Mixon, Ekeler, Javonte Williams, Mostert, Dobbins, Gibson, Bigsby, Spears, Gainwell, Guerendo
WR- Chase, Lamb, London, Pittman, Odunze, Roman Wilson, QJ, Bateman, Shaheed, OBJ, Skyy
TE- Kincaid, Freiermuth, Chig, Fant, Musgrave, Woods, Bellinger

Team 2-
.5 PPR TE Prem (1Q, 2 R, 3W, 1 T, 3 WRT)
QB: J. Allen, Stroud
RB: CMC, Bijan, Gibbs, JT, Breece Hall, Kamara, Gibson
WR: Diggs, Hill, AJB, Odunze, Aiyuk, London, JSN, BTJ, Hollywood, M.Mims, Meyers, Washington

QB: J. Allen, Tua, Dak
RB: Gibbs, Hall, Achane, Jacobs, Warren, Bigsby, Dobbins, K. Mitchell, Dowdle
WR: Lamb, Wilson, Waddle, Olave, Nabers, London, Bateman, Wan'Dale, Javon Baker, Wicks, OBJ,
TE: Kittle, Kincaid, Woods, Stover

With that team, I'd have no problem sending my 1st (trade 3) to sure up my TE slot. You're elite everywhere else. I might explore what Mark Andrews would cost as I'd imagine it's probably as good or better production at an age discount, but I'd be fine with deal 3 as-is

I’m apparently in the minority but I would not pay waddle for McBride. We have a tiny sample size of him doing anything on a completely depleted team playing for nothing. They’ve now added a generational talent at wr for target competition, I like him, but people anointing him as te1 is crazy to me. They may be proven right, but I haven’t seen enough to be sold yet.

Thanks for all the input. The owner for trades 1 and 2 decided he wanted more for mcbride and won't take Pacheco because hes a 7th round draft pick. Hes also wanting a 1st round draft for Hock, but not mine because he views it as too low.

Might have to rethink how to upgrade my tight ends.

Also picked up All off of waivers.

I don’t hate this deal at all. I think Bowers is going to be a monster. Might be a bit of a waiting game. I have Waddle and he can be a tough player to own sometimes. The value is there. Go get your tight end if you feel good about it.
