Purdy SF Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Purdy SF Value

Postby blemly » Thu May 09, 2024 4:10 am

In advanced talks with Team 1 below where I’d be receiving Purdy. It’s a SF 12-tm 4pt-Pass TD league and a full rebuild. I’m kind of realizing I don’t have a great read on Purdy’s value. Yes, he was the QB6 last year, but only the QB14 in weekly PPG so that T6 finish is really buttressed by 2023 QB injuries.

Going in I had him valued similar to Devonta Smith/1.06, but that seems to be an undervaluation based on the current market. Where do you value him?
Team 1 (Rebuild ): 12-tm SF 0.5PPR/1.0PP1D
QB: Williams, Young, Tannehill
RB: Herbert, Akers, Gibson, Wilson, Abanikanda
WR: MHJ, Nabers, Flowers, Pickens, Dotson, Downs, Chark, Boyd, Douglas
TE: Knox
Picks: 3 ‘25 1s, 4 ‘25 2s, ‘25 3

Team 2: 14-tm SF PPR/1.5TEP
QB: Burrow, Wilson, Lance
RB: JT, Mixon, Pollard, Laube, Guerendo, Hill, Patterson, Hines
WR: Hill, Cooper, DK, DJM, D. Samuel, Sutton
TE: Freiermuth, Gesicki, Hudson
Picks: ‘25 3rd, ‘25 4th

Team 3 10-tm SF PPR
QB: Mahomes, Dak, Jones
RB: JT, Kamara, Jacobs, Zeke, Singletary, Moss
WR: AJB, Diggs, Allen, Cooper, Wilson, Kirk, Sutton, Williams, Bateman, E. Moore
TE: Goedert, Schultz, Granson, Hill
Picks: 1.06, 1.07, 2.04, 2.07

Is 1.01 likely to be CW or MHJr? In a dream world you can completely rebuild your QB room in one off-season.

Regardless, to me Purdy > Smith, 1.02 > 1.05, where is the 2025 pick projected, assuming late this appears to be a good deal. Mid about even, but still seems like something I'd take. Early and I'd probably pass.

Then if CW goes 1 you can always try to trade back (or just grab MHJr) 1 or 2 spots and pick up a 2nd and still grab Daniels or Nabers.

Thanks for your thoughts. I’m not in love with this QB class outside of Williams, which is why I’m considering a pivot to a known asset in Purdy, even if he has less upside.

1.01 is definitely Williams
1.03 is definitely Daniels if he’s there.

If I had 1.02 and 1.04 I would probably just take my two favorite players in this class in MHJ and Nabers and try to grab Penix/Benson at 2.02.

is this an idea of an offer you want to send? i think you are light for landing both purdy and 1.02. purdy for 1.05 and a first is fair. smith for 1.02 is on 1.02 side for me. if this is something they already said they would do i would go get it done i think its a good move

Would you consider yourself high on Purdy? 1.05 + 25 1 for him feels heavy to me. Maybe 1.05 + 24 or 25 early 2 but not more.

Edit: to answer your Q, yes this was proposed to me via text. There have not been discussions about which 1st, however.

Purdy will likely have a Kirk Cousins type of career. Which isn't the sexiest thing ever but it can be valuable to your roster. Depends on the team and draft class but in this class specifically I'd value him as probably a mid-1st in this class.

The rookies i'd have ahead;
Caleb
Daniels
MHJ
Nabers
Odunze
Bowers (te prem)

I'd take Purdy over the rest of the QB's and WR's. Could make an argument he's worth roughly bowers or the top 2 rb's in non-te prem. Probably worth more than the rb's to be honest, however if you have a plethora of qbs and no rbs i could see you making the swap.

Kirk is exactly who I had in mind. It’s fine, but I’m not exactly excited. And my roster is garbage. Started a rebuild 1-2 months ago and have:

Young/Tannehill
Charbonnet/Herbert/Gibson
Smith/Flowers/Pickens/Dotson/Chark/Douglas
Njoku/Knox

Leaning heavily into picks and currently have 1.04, 1.05, 2.02, 3.03, 4.01, 4 25 1sts and 2 25 2nds.

yes i was in the camp of being all in on him and not into lance or thinking there was any threat of purdy giving the job back, then he went out and had a great year. he has been a QB1 in 75% of the games hes played in and is locked into a top offense. not moving that for hoping to land someone as good or better.

Don't typically like giving 3 pieces for 2 in a rebuild but I'd be in on this.
