Trade Calculators

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Calculators

Postby pnrsteelers » Sun Apr 28, 2024 12:00 pm

I wanted to get some thoughts on what sites have good calculators to use when evaluation a trade. I usually use the DLF calculator but recently started using DTC. I am finding they tend to calculate on a wide margin which makes me unsure which one is better. I wondering what everyone else is using for evaluating a trade offer. Is DFL a good Calculator? Is DTC a good calculator? are there other sites that have good trade calculators? Any input would be appreciated.

I don't use them.

Posting a trade in the DLF Forum Team Advice section and getting actual advice is far better IMHO.

I use DTC's calculator exclusively but I don't know if one is better or worse. (I've played around with KTC and other calculators.)

I'd recommend simply using them as a tool to gauge relative values and going from there; just because the calculator says a trade is "fair" or your trade partner is "overpaying" doesn't mean I'm going to do the deal.

Unlike most folks on here, I'm not big on trading or drafting based on value; I go get my guys and fill positions of need, so take my post with a large grain of salt.

I like DLFs trade analyzer because I know how it works and i don't abuse it.

Honestly the thing more useful than trade analyzers are trade finders (https://dynastyleaguefootball.com/trade ... er=9992181)

These allow me to look at actual trades and get ideas for what the going rate for players is.

I use KTC, DTC, and DLF.

I have found DLF to be a little slow in updating values. DTC is probably a blend of the other two, imo. I typically try to use message boards and ADP when throwing pieces into a calculator. Often times the sniff test will tell you all you need to know.

Trade calculators are bs. They're only good for complete noobs not getting taken advantage off in trades, when they dont do any research, when they're incapable of thinking for themself and not putting any time into a trade.

When I send out an offer, I’ll run it first through a few calculators just to confirm it won’t be viewed as insulting. I’m better than I used to be - but I spend a lot of time staring at my roster trying to identify players’ upside, so it’s good to check my goggles.

I've heard that before, but then it's not always accurate with what real ppl are saying and doing.

It's always accurate. It reflects the most recent mock drafts that are run and the rankers ranks.

When one of those two things updates the values change to new calculated values over 72 hours (3 updates).

It's no different than other calculators that input values in. Like I said, knowing how a calculator/analyzer works is critical to using it. Otherwise you are best off using a trade finder instead.

The mock draft data is stagnant until the next one is completed and can be outdated on things that have happened even from when they start to when it ends, let alone the next months. That component is not a positive IMO.
