Target Tank Dell? Value?
My league is 12 man, PPR, 1 QB, non TEP. Start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 non-QB flex
Current WRs: Lamb, Nacua, Olave, D Smith, Shakir, Iosivas, Burks
I have picks 1.01, 1.02 and 1.04 and 1.10 so MHJ and Nabers will be added. At 1.04 I'm undecided at this point. 1.10 could be for trading for Tank.
Tank Dell was having a monster season until he got hurt. He's not a big guy, so durability is a concern. CJ Stroud gave him and not Nico a shoutout last month, which could be complete smoke, but it at least makes me feel that Tank is going to be a focal point of that offense. I currently have an offer of ETN + D Smith out for Gibbs, so we'll see if that happens. Given the current makeup of my team, is Tank someone you would pursue? It's unlikely I would need to start him every week given who I already have. I'm also looking for value before these guys become unattainable, and I feel like he's someone that could take a big leap in year 2 for FF.
My current
QB: Stroud, Minshew
RBs: Bijan, ETN, R White, Spears, Z White, Abanikanda.
TE: Laporta, Muth
Current WRs: Lamb, Nacua, Olave, D Smith, Shakir, Iosivas, Burks

Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
I'm very high on Tank Dell and would give the 1.04 in 1QB, non-TEP. I can't imagine that the 1.10 is enough to get it done.
Also that offer of ETN/Smith for Gibbs is really pricey. I'd pull that.

Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
I agree paying ETN+DSmith for Gibbs is pricey. I'm not confident Gibbs will outproduce ETN at all, much less by a difference of DSmith.
Regarding Dell, sure make the offer of 1.10. As a Dell manager, the 1.10 would be an instant reject for me, but maybe the guy in your league feels different.
If I was making an offer for Dell, I'd feel comfortable offering the 1.04 for him. I think the peak production we want out of a WR drafted in the early 1st round is what Dell has already done. I'd rather have the guy who has proven he can do it, over some draft-fever player at 1.04 who has never played in the NFL.
If we count only the eight games Dell started, a full season extrapolates to 1313 YDS, 142 TARGETS, 87 REC, and 15 TDs. Are we really expecting any rookie to outperform that? Not to mention any rookie WR drafted will come with a failure risk of not zero percent and as high as fifty percent.
I'd rather have Dell.

I’m not even sure I’d take 1.03 for tank as I see a drop after 1.2 and 1.3. But offering 1.10 wouldn’t get a counter from me, offering 1.4 would

Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
I have a feeling most all of the Dell supporters are also owners. IMO half a season from a 165lb player is probably not an indication of what his numbers will normally look like year to year. Nico’s on a contract year and there’s no one else. Wouldn’t it be funny if the Texans draft early WR and Dell is the #3 on his own team.. very possible a month from now.

I like Spears and 1.10 to Dell. There are people like me who also might agree. Offer it!

Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
X2 man I really don't get all the love for Dell, especially giving up an early first for him, a 165lb WR2 on his own team?? I hear alot about extrapolating stats which I would be careful on, using a rookie's half season to predict the future seems like a great way to overvalue a player. Don't forget about Schultz as well and yep still have the draft and they tried to make a deal for K. I would give the 1.10 in a vacuum, depends on WR's available but I'd be careful on buying Dell at what could be peak value.

Maybe I'm drinking the koolaid. 1.10 in a 1QB league seems super light to me for Dell.PigeonBoys wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:49 pmX2 man I really don't get all the love for Dell, especially giving up an early first for him, a 165lb WR2 on his own team?? Where would you rank Dell amongst guys like D.Smith, T.Higgins, Metcalf, Pickens? (I have him right in that mix and therefore worth far more the the 1.10). Dropping down a tier (and still way above the 1.10) - Flowers, Godwin, D.Johnshon, McLaurin.

Right in that order but put Dell ahead of Pickens.tstafford wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:12 pmMaybe I'm drinking the koolaid. 1.10 in a 1QB league seems super light to me for Dell.PigeonBoys wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:49 pmX2 man I really don't get all the love for Dell, especially giving up an early first for him, a 165lb WR2 on his own team?? Project into the future what has to happen for the diminutive receiver to stay dominant year after year and how will his game keep up with NFL. Not to mention his staying healthy.
Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
What WR in this class do you like more than Tank? I’ve only got MHjr, Nabers, and Maybe Odunze over Tank, which puts him at 1.3/1.4. He’s tied to CJ, who’s balling, and loves him and wanted to draft him and has great chemistry with him. He was injured on a freak play.PigeonBoys wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:49 pmX2 man I really don't get all the love for Dell, especially giving up an early first for him, a 165lb WR2 on his own team?? I get the concern of extrapolating a half season worth of data, but what else is there to work with? And this could be peak Tank value but I doubt it. They wanted Ka but that seems like it’d dip Nico’s role not Tanks, I think his role is safe, and his value goes up as he gets more experience and success, he’s looked great so far
Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
Not to de-rail this thing - but why is all the size talk focused on Tank Dell but we rarely (if ever) hear it about Jordan Addison? Addison is 1 inch taller and only seven or eight pounds heavier. You can't see a thread involving Dell w/o people taking size whereas it almost never comes up with Addison.

Re: Target Tank Dell? Value?
Personally I have Dell behind everyone in that group but Pickens, I'd put Dell above Pickens. I need to see more from Dell in order to put him above any of those guys, all of those WR's are also the epitome of health and routinely play a full season, we kind of know what we get with those guys. With Dell we don't really know what we're getting yet, he's an old rookie who is diminutive and had issues staying on the field in year one.tstafford wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:12 pmMaybe I'm drinking the koolaid. 1.10 in a 1QB league seems super light to me for Dell.PigeonBoys wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 2:49 pmX2 man I really don't get all the love for Dell, especially giving up an early first for him, a 165lb WR2 on his own team??
