1.5, Levis and 2.5 for 1.2 and 2.10

1.5, Levis and 2.5 for 1.2 and 2.10

Postby Last Place » Sat Mar 16, 2024 7:56 am

i currently have 1.3, 1.5 and 2.5.

I've been offered 1.2 and 2.10 for 1.5, Levis and 2.5.

MHJ is gone at 1, and i know the current owner of 1.2 will take daniels if we don't make this deal, which means Williams will fall to me at 3. So really all I'm doing here is trying to garuantee who I get with my second 1st rounder. Is this an overpay just to land Nabers, Bowers, or Odunze, one of which I'll get at 1.5 anyway?

WR: G. Wilson, Metcalf, Downs, Toney.
TE: Kincaid, Pitts

Also giving up Levis but I think you’ll be so set at QB after this draft.

This depends on your thought on Levis and williams or nabors/oduzne. I can see both side to it and the value I think is there . I like Levis and see him being a decent quality NFL and FF QB.

I’d do the deal.

If you don’t, it’s also possible they trade 1.2 to someone else and Williams goes there instead of to you at 1.3

This is a good point, unless the guy doesn’t want out of the top 5 then he’s only got one other option, but ya.

yep my thoughts there. actually the more i think about it, that is pretty cheap to move up into the "redzone" of this years draft

Especially considering 1.5 is almost certainly going to be WR (following 3 QB + MHJ) so you land the Q

I'm not sure how the 2nd rookie QB drafted is any more or less of a gamble at this point than Levis is. No way I'm paying that to move three spots in a lineup with deep settings (4 Flex). I'd much rather have the extra player that is on your side (it's 3-for-2).
10 tms 27 plrs PPR
Start: 2QB 2RB 3WR 2TE 2Flex / best ball

QB: Herbert, Love, Rodgers, G Smith, Stidham, T Taylor, Hall
RB: McCaffrey, Mixon, Pacheco, Montgomery, Z White, Allgeier, Dillon
WR: Hill, St. Brown, Kupp, Allen, Lockett, B Johnson
TE: Kelce, Kmet, Kraft, Okonkwo, Dulcich, Tremble

2024: 2.09, 3.07, 3.08, 3.10, 4.08
2025: 2nd (x2), 4th, 5th (x2)
2026: 1st, 2nd (x2), 3rd, 4th, 5th

12 tms 22 active plyrs. Salary Cap $300 PPR
Start: 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1SF 1Flex / best ball

QB: Lawrence (contract through 2026), Love ('24), Rodgers ('24), Stidham ('25), Lock ('25)
RB: Bijan Robinson ('25), Pollard ('27), Dillon ('24), Rodriguez ('24), Spiller ('24)
WR: G Wilson ('26), AJ Brown ('26), DJ Montgomery ('25)

Levis can be benched after four bad games and it’s no thing, but the incoming top 3 pick will have a leash that lasts typically years at a minimum. Considerably less risk, much more upside, greater prospect.

I’d do that. I’d assume Caleb will go 1.01. You could rebuild your wr room with MHJ and nabers with those two picks
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Shocking as it is, Williams will be there at 3. 2 guys at 1 and 2 hate him.

I get that.

And...

The history of top rookie QBs is sketchy; far more misses or busts than anything else. I'm not sure that the points you mentioned mitigate that Levis is an INCREDIBLE situation with the off-season roster and coaching moves Tennessee has made. So do you want a longer leash in a likely worse situation or a shorter leash in a better situation? If it's that binary, I'd actually prefer the second: gets rids of roster clogging.

I'm not suggesting I'd rather have Levis than rookie QB2. I'm just suggesting the gap might not be as massive as perceived, and I wouldn't pay Levis to go from 1.05 to 1.02. (Heck, OP's rookie QB2 might even be there at 1.05!)

There’s a lot of counterpoints here but I’m tired from cleaning the RV. I’ll leave with a snapshot of Levis fantasy numbers. It’s hard to imagine the top of this rookie QB class not completely obliterating this..
