G Wilson + 1.08 or JSN + 1.04

Making a new post to get clear response to this exact deal. The other owner is pressuring and seems to be in a rush to make a deal. It’s a 1QB and the value seems to be there but I want to make sure I’m not missing something here. I love JSN and am blinded by it a bit. Is this a smash accept to get Wilson?

Talking back and forth gives him the opportunity to reconsider, change his mind, and ask for more. Talking back and forth about hypotheticals is not always the best way to conduct negotiations. Sometimes, but not always.

Put a real offer through your league's software and see what he does. Let him see this is more than talk and is an actual chance to accept a real offer. Be sure to put a 24 or 48 hour deadline on it.

And if he rejects the offer and tries to start up the verbal/texting back-and-forth again, ask him to send the new offer as a real offer over league software. Doing that will prevent him from putting out fake offers, reneging on them after you give a soft agree, and upping the ante.

Yeah I agree. I did do that. I sent the JSN + 1.04 for Wilson + 1.08 after we had talked about it earlier in the day. He said he was getting other offers but like my option best. I sent the offer over then he said he wanted a little something more on top and would prefer Najee. Then he started to back out all together saying that he thinks he needs to wait until the NFL draft before making a deal. Strange. Maybe he realized he wasn’t sure of the 1.04 value and what kind of players may be available there after landing spots. I’ll probably just put a lid on trade talks until the NFL draft at this point.

The good news is that hype of the 1.04 should only increase as you get closer to your draft. I'd try again as you get closer just make sure he knows to check with you before selling him for less elsewhere in the meantime.

Id gladly pay JSN+1.04 for Wilson. Wilson has shown talent, upside, volume, and consistency despite his bottom of the league QB play. Currently, he has back to back 1,000+ yard seasons. He's worth acquiring for this kind of price.
