Retool trade ... Moved Diggs for 2025 picks

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Retool trade ... Moved Diggs for 2025 picks

Postby Mr. Reid » Mon Mar 04, 2024 4:24 pm

Just curious to see how everyone thinks I did with this trade along with advice you'd give on my next move. I had a strong year last year and won the championship, but my team is full of aging vets about to fall off the cliff (signature below). I'm trying to unload the vets and retool looking ahead to 2025 but also potentially this year if my vets can produce one more year.

Trade 1 (already completed):
Gave: Diggs
Received: 2025 1st & 2nd (probably mid)

Trade 2 (I'm considering, but would take me out of contention 100% this year):
Give: K. Allen & A. Jones
Receive: 2025 1st & 2nd (probably top 3-6 picks, new owner who is trying to compete with an average at best squad).

Questions:
1. How do you think I did on Diggs value, too little, just right? Felt like I needed to cash out while he still had stand alone value.
2. Do I sell the other two OLD vets (Allen & Jones) and cash out while i can. It will turn into a wasted season which I don't like.

I do have 3 first round picks in 2025, so i'm positioned well to make in season trades if I'm in the playoff hunt.

Thoughts/Feedback appreciated.

If you truly think that’s top 3-6 even with Allen and jones then that’s a no brainer. Would think with him trying to contend in a 14 teamer it can’t really project that early though??

I can’t get bleep for Diggs right now. I like both trades. Pull the trigger on second one.

I guess nothing is guaranteed, but he inherited the worst team (last place last year) and unfortunately the previous owner traded the pick last offseason. I think realistically the best he could come in would be maybe pick 1.5, so I guess the real odds of the pick are potentially 1.3-1.8. Still feels like the right move.

For context, 10 team 1 QB PPR with full IDP, I traded Diggs and the 20th pick for the 11th and 14th picks, all picks are 2024. But I was done with Diggs and think he will not be a solid starter in 2024. I don't think I could have gotten any first for him.

I would do the 2nd trade if you could.
