Should I trade either Breece or Bijan?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Should I trade either Breece or Bijan?

Postby WOATjohn » Thu Feb 22, 2024 10:44 am

Team 2
My big core is strong but my depth tiers off extremely quick and I’m one or two injuries away from killing my season.
Would it be smart to trade either Breece or Bijan for some sort of package? I have not shipped around but I’m not sure if I am considering this because I’m bored lol.

Starting lineup:
QB: Tua
RB: Breece, Bijan
WR: Wilson, Smith, JSN
TE: Kincaid
Flex: Hockenson… Douglas? Ford?
Next up: Jameson, Ferguson

Your signature shows this as a rebuild or is this more of a retool?
You haven't shopped around yet but what were you thinking of trying to bolster up?
What draft picks do you have this year? 1.02 or 1.05 or 1.12 etc?
Cheers
Mike

Without knowing your picks, I wouldn't trade Breece or Bijan.

I'd trade BOTH or neither.

If you trade one, I'm not sure how you get yourself to competing. Yes, two pieces would be helpful given the starting lineups, but the downgrade would be huge. Even more so if you parcel Breece into three pieces. At that point, if you're not competing, better to sell the other RB, too.

Otherwise (and this would be my preference), I'd hang onto both, hope your team stays healthy, and see if you can find the final pieces to round out your team. Worst case, one of your team's studs gets injured and/or your team is underperfoming. You'll still have 1-2 studs you can trade in-season for a similar (or potentially better package) than you're likely to get now.

Sorry i havent replied to anyone all day, day got busy.

This team has been in a two year rebuild.
Last year I was rebuilding and then I got off to a hot start so I traded my 24 1st for JSN (I love JSN so i don't care what you think lol). I also traded Burks for Mostert and I traded my 24 2nd for Jameson Williams. I tried trading my picks for youth that could still potentially help me make a push. I lost in the first round.

Obviously my team is extremely young so there should be more development going into the 20024 season. I have been trying to shop one of my TEs but no one is really paying what I THINK is market value so I have stayed put. The best offer I have had is Johan Dotson and Roschon Johnson for Ferguson and Douglas. After I declined he did ask about Kincaid but he only has James Cook, Kyren Williams, Kamara, Roschon and Dotson that I am interested in but I can't package players to get either Cook or Kyren and I don't want to age myself and get Kamara for a Kincaid deal.

Tough call, but I would be looking to move Bijan and Breece IF you can get good value for them.
Looks like you have most of your capital tied up in these 2 RB's, and that is always a risky play, as RB's are more prone to injury than other positions.
In Full PPR, I would rather have more capital tied up in WR than in RB.

I'd see if I could trade Bijan for say Rachaad White/James Cook and Odunze/Addison, I'd consider making a trade like that.
Similar package for Breece.

It's a shame you already sold your 24 1st and 2nd, as this team looks like it needs some work to compete.
You would have been better of last year keeping your picks and not making the playoffs.

I wasn’t going to miss the playoffs as I was the 2nd seed midway through the year with my hot start and I sold my 1st for the 1.02 last year. Not sure how that hurts my growth at all.

I see this team always a pretender and not a contender, unless Rodgers makes Wilson a full blown top 4 wr and Smith and JSn become high end wrs2 or better. this is 12 teams it looks like so most teams should have solid layers IMO. Yes I be looking to make a deal that right for this team, like a pollard,achane,cooks,stevens/Higgins,london,addison type trades good luck.

You mentioned my WRs but skipped over the fact I have arguably the top 2 RBs in dynasty. If healthy, those two can be league winners on their own.

I agree.

He has two young stud RB's, two stud TE's, though 1 is currently injured, and a WR room full of potential, but short on production so far.

I'm sure that Hockenson and Mostert had a lot to do with this team making the playoffs in 2023, but hard to count on them in 2024, with Mostert age and injury history, and Hock injury and QB questions.

This looks like a team that could make the playoffs if things break their way, but not sure that you can count on things breaking your way every year. With no 2024 picks, he won't be improving this team this year, so he is still in the cross your fingers and if all goes well you can make the playoffs tier.
Certainly not a championship contender in 2024, but could be in a couple years, IF his top 3 WR's all hit, and his top 2 RB's stay healthy.

Looks like a middle of the pack team to me, and for me, that is the worst place to be.
Middle of the pack I am either trading away my picks to get better and contend (but you already got rid of your picks to get mid), or sell assets and go into a rebuild.

Most of your assets are young though, so a rebuild doesn't make much sense.
I would hold on to your 2025 picks, and just try to keep building, after taking 2024 off, and hope that you WR room can eventually develop.
Just a shame to miss out on this possible greatest WR class of all time, but it is what it is.

When I go about building a roster, the RB's are always the last piece I add.
The finishing touch, the pièce de résistance.
Because injury risk is highest at the RB position, and shelf life is shortest, I wait until my QB room (SF), WR room, and TE room are all in order before looking to acquire RB's.

But I get that everyone builds differently. Good luck.

I would try to trade a TE like you are already doing.
I would not trade either RB unless you get a stud WR back as part of the package (or a '24 pick that will net you one that you view as a stud). I would not want to do it for depth (R White & Addison example).

I would rather have most of the value on my team at positions besides running back. Seems like every year you can buy a running back who’s getting a lot of touches for pretty cheap. Other positions tend to play longer. I traded Breese Hall on a good team for Garrett Wilson And a second round pick. Probably hurts my chances at winning it all next year but gives me a better chance at winning it all over the next few years. I have a couple future first rounders that I’ll try to hold onto throughout the off-season and then come time if I need to add veteran running back, I will be able to.

just have shop around it wont be easy but 2 for 1 if possible, it maybe best to do this in season once injuries start hitting or just keep what you got and keep building. I also meant no disrespect to this team.
