Higgins+ for Chase

Hey everyone - Chase owner is interested in a Chase for Higgins+ deal in a 10-team, 1QB, 1pt PPR league. He thinks the market is too low on Higgins given potential to be the #1 somewhere and is a little turned off by Chase's boom / bust track record (while acknowledging he's an elite asset). I'm trying to ideate on what offer could make sense

I initially offered Higgins, 1.10, and a "second" (I have 2.05 / 2.10), which he declined. I was thinking of going back with Higgins and the 1.05, but that is probably light too.

Given the team in sig, what do you think might make sense?

It feels like the 1.05 is light but put up the 1.05 and Higgins and see where the value is from there. It's annoying when a manager says they are interested, willing to make a deal surrounding Higgins + but don't offer anything...If the 1.05 is not enough on top of Higgins, I would avoid the guessing game and ask what the price is then if two offers are declined. Seems like Rice may tip the scale but I would rather move a pick if possible.

Higgins+Rice+1.05 is what it will probably take.
You can try to work your way there slowly, but I don't see any reason to trade away Chase for anything less.

Chase easily for me. He's a difference maker. None of these guys are, and in that format, I'm not moving Chase for that. I'd smash decline an offer of Higgins, Rice and 1.05 for Chase in 1 QB, 10 team leagues. Start 7?

You're not even close to get Chase with your offer, or even Anteaters idea, here. @Gator Sens, are you looking at the format?

Chase isn't touchable with 1.05 and Higgins, and Rice ain't getting it done either, unless your league mate is a rube, or I am reading your Sig wrong. You have no TE listed in Sig, but list Andrews as a starter.

EVEN with 1 TE, if it's start 8 in a 10 team, 1 QB league, Chase will cost a fortune, and a bunch of WR 2/3 types and 1.05 in this class ain't getting him.

I wouldn't want to miss the window to acquire Chase especially in this format. I'm fine with sending Higgins/Rice/Reed/1.10. Note: I don't put a ton of value on either Reed or the 1.10 but I think other managers might.

league format makes "overpaying" ok. as in, it seems a lot, but you're not really overpaying.

although, knowing managers that start negotiations by asking you to make an offer, he's only going to accept it if it's heavily in his favour. classic "if i send a good offer and he accepts, i could have spent less and i'd feel like an idiot, if i send a bad trade he might not come back to it... let's hope he has enough rope to hang himself!"

you sent an offer, he just said no, without a counter. the offer wasn't great but was he expecting? either send an improved offer or tell him it's his turn to send an offer now. if he doesn't, just wait a month or two without mentioning it again, some of those that want to trade this time of the year can be impatient and don't like to play chicken (which may result in them selling chase to someone else, but hey...).

Agreed. I should have said Higgins+Rice+1.05 is what it will probably take to be considered a serious offer.

Thanks all - this is super helpful color. Seems like I should increase my offer moderately to see if he engages with a counter - he initially seemed keen on fleshing out a deal and I'm not sure he appreciates the value of studs in this format

Am thinking of going back with Higgins, 1.05, and 2.05 and then pushing for his counter, and hopefully ending in the Higgins, 1.05, Rice range. Stay tuned!

I’d say it’s cheap not steep. I have chase and that offer is much less than I’d need. I’d take it and run, unless you love whoever is bpa at 1.5 in this draft

Well, you obviously need to address your RB situation at some point, but this probably isn't the draft to do that anyway and every pick he's asking for is in this draft so yeah... I'd probably do it.

If you were willing to go Higgins/Rice/1.05 range, is the 1.10 and 2.05 that much more than Rice? Here you get to keep Rice. In this format, I go get Chase for that price.

Absolutely reasonable ask.

Try swapping your 1.10 with Reed. But I wouldn't push that too hard, as in this format you want studs.

If you succeed, then I would use the 1.10 for addressing your RB-position. Either 2025 1st or 1/2 veteran RBs
