Yes. Great hire.

I'd think everyone who rosters their skill position players has to feel pretty optimistic about this news. Now about that QB position...
I’m thrilled with this having both Bijan and London…

Obviously they’re going to address the QB position in the offseason. Not even sure why that’s even needing to be mentioned.

Because nothing in the NFL is a given. It’d be hard not to improve. But there is always a chance nothing falls right for them this offseason and they’re stuck without much improvement.

Kirk resigns. Fields stays or traded to AFC. Top QBs all gone by 8. Etc

Because whatever solution they come up with, it better be a solid choice. This is an organization that hasn't had competent QB play since arguably Matt Ryan's 2020 season. And even that wasn't great. Reason enough to ponder the point. Mariota, Ridder, and Heinicke were abject failures and those were attempts at stability.

This is the same team that thought Desmond Ridder was the answer just last season.. I wouldn't count my chickens before they've hatched.

Ridder only played in 4 games in ‘22. It wouldn’t be unexpected that they’d hope to see some growth out of him last season. After being given a full year to show that, I’m guessing Fontenot is savvy enough to see that they’ve got to upgrade there, especially given how well he’s assembled the rest of the O.

There’s always going to be a way to find some improvement there, even if it would be more of a last-resort kind of move of overpaying a bit for a guy like Browning.

They strangely brought in 0 legitimate competition this off-season and handed the starting job over to a 3rd round pick that wasn't all that remarkable in his limited games.

The only other teams that did so last off-season with a young, unproven QB were the 49ers with Brock Purdy who led them to the NFCG and GB with 1st rounder Jordan Love.

That's an egregicous amount of faith they put on a middling talent

I don't know why people just assume they're going to solve their QB issues. They could just as easily miss on their 'answer' as they have since Matt Ryan left

We have no idea what they were seeing from Ridder in OTAs, PS and TC. Hindsight is always 20/20, especially when the information founding that vision is extremely limited.

I’m not saying it’s a given that they’ll solve the problem. Just that I find it highly unlikely that they stay static.

Guessing that was Arthur Smith doing more Arthur Smith things because, as we all learned, he is smarter than us all! 😂

They could literally pull Ryan Fitzpatrick out of retirement and be better at QB than they were last year.
