That would make a lot of sense. A McVay disciple makes sense, and could be a good thing.

Atlanta could have Andy Reid as OC. But until they find even an average QB I’m not too thrilled with their fantasy players .

But my grandma would make a better play caller than Arthur Smith so anything is a positive for Pitts, London and Bijan

I wonder if the move for Morris could spark the Cousins/Atlanta scenarios. There's a common McVay connection between Morris and Cousins from that Washington team 10 years ago, and it's all Shanahan tree.

Cameron Giles wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 4:20 pm Morris could end up being an alright hire. He's young, has been in the NFL a long time, and has a ton of experience already with the Falcons. Atlanta has a very underrated roster. Everything hinges on what they do at QB and who the OC is.

Canales/Carolina seems promising on paper, though I think Carolina would've benefit more from a more proven head coach who can lead that organization like Vrabel. Team needs a lot of help either way with personnel.
That OC needs to be someone innovative. BJ is the right guy, but I'm not sure he budges for a lateral move to ATL. Unless they add in a yacht filled with money. He seems destined to stay in DET if he doesn't take the WAS job.

Vrabel or Quinn to Seattle.

Lots of coordinator positions to fill.
Regarding Canales/Carolina, agreed it's a bit risky handing him the reigns. But he oversaw a career year out of Baker and hopefully will be good for Bryce Young. That's obviously job #1. It will be interesting to see who he adds as the OC.

Equally interesting will be who becomes Tampa's new OC, and whether or not it has much of an affect on their offense and/or Baker's performance. I'm assuming he'll be back with the Bucs, though I suppose that's not exactly settled.

I'm warming to the idea of Vrabel in Seattle and find myself starting to hope that's the direction they head. But with second interviews coming up (and Vrabel not reportedly being on that list) I'm guessing it's going to be someone else. Really hoping it's not Quinn, as that just has too much of a "been there, done that" vibe. I think they should move away from anyone associated with the Carroll regime and start fresh.

Though Carroll is supposedly now in an "advisory" role, I think that's more ceremonial than significant. An easier way to make the transition than simply firing the guy outright. Schneider, rightfully IMO, is steering the ship at this point.

Call me the contrarian, but I see the Raheem hire as responsible and educated. He has a great rep as a leader and knows the organization. He seems like a hire for stability and culture over a shiny new toy or a hope of rekindling past success.

Geez.

Raheem Morris reportedly with a 5-year deal. Guess the Falcons better hope they got it right. They must feel confident.

I'd think everyone who rosters their skill position players has to feel pretty optimistic about this news. Now about that QB position...
