would you consider offering JJ for 1.1 & 1.2?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

would you consider offering JJ for 1.1 & 1.2?

For team two in sig. Just went undefeated but team long term is on life support. I traded All my picks away to build that team. Literally next picks would be in 2027... Won back to back championships though. When barkely and CmC fall off a cliff the only thing I'll have is my wrs to trade out. I did offer Lamb and got rejected but he did tell me he thought about it heavily.

What do you think??

Congrats on a monster season first off!

I would not. Build around Jefferson, Lamb, and Brown. You are in trouble with picks either way. I don't like deals like this because you are just hoping one of the WRs ends up being Jefferson essentially. I could be on an island, but I don't see the point expect excitement and hope for the possible next best thing.

Tend to agree with Gator here. Didn't look at the team in sig cuz I'm a lazy POS, BUT, I think what you'd realistically be looking for for JJ is one of those picks PLUS Star Starters for your squad. Adding depth only works if you end up with players that can actually start for your team. Grabbing an established player+early pick gives a decent chance at that, but as much as we all want to talk these early picks (MHJ,Nabers,Bowers, etc.) they can ALWAYS implode (Treadwell, any patriots drafter WR, etc.).

Yep. Step away from the trade button. You never trade away top 2 talent in all the land for essentially lottery tickets. Build around him and be happy. Don’t worry there are other ways

Rookie Fever Meter is in the yellow and fast approaching the red.

JJ is 24 years old and showed he is QB proof after coming back from injury. Zero chance I'm selling him for picks.

FWIW - The manager offering the 1.01/1.02 made one mistake - offering this trade in January rather than May 1st. This kind of deal is going to get accepted in some cases.

Truthfully, I don't know how to answer this. I see that JJ's contract on your team is dirt cheap. And, by a quick glance and without reading your league consitution, this is his last year on contract. Is that right? If so, can you extend him? And what would be the price?

If this is his last cheap year, then it's a MUCH different calculation: one cheap year of JJ or mutliple cheap years of the players you get at 1.1 and 1.2. That is not an easy choice in a salary cap league.

I can't speak to the defensive side of the team; I don't do IDP. Clearly, though, you're a contender for the championship, and that's what really complicates things here.

Before I really go into the weeds, could you clarify JJ's contract situation?

I missed that this was SC. That could change everything.

Need to understand the total cap, the cost/length of the contracts for the picks and what can be done when JJ's contract expires (franchise tag?).

FWIW - I play in SC and almost never post questions about that team. It's too confusing to folks who don't play SC.

After lookin at your rules for salary cap, I definitely would NOT make that trade.

You have JJ for two more years for $29+. It appears you'd be paying $60+ and $50+ for each of those picks for two years.

You're giving up a known Top 3 player making a much lower salary than two unknown talents who will be expensive.

Spend your cap money a different way.
