Smart move was at best the 4th WR and he wasn’t ready. Another year and he might be top 2 in the class
I don’t know anything about college ball. How often has this worked out for players.
Devonta Smith?

Even still, next year will have Burden and Evan Stewart.

Then competition for targets on his own team from sophomores Tate and Inniss. Though, Inniss might be his direct backup.
ETN made himself some money by staying back, especially dangerous as a RB too.

Then the opposite at RB with Love from Stanford. That one still upsets me.

The success rate of jumping up into the 1st has to be around 10%, maybe lower. Smith and Olave are the 2 WR that came to mind recently and people said those. ETN the obvious RB of recent years. Of course, he could also remain a day 2 pick next year, which isn't the worst case. But there's always injury risk.

Yeah I was going to say, the odds are still well against it working out. All the players mentioned here I feel like had specific circumstances.

Smith was in a well documented crowded WR room. He had a chance to be the man after the others entered the draft.

ETN was probably still a 2nd round pick anyway and wanted to play with Trevor again. Nothing against his NFL production, but if the Jags don’t have Urban and 2 1sts (after taking Trevor) does ETN go in the 1st?

Olave’s junior year was the Covid season, right?

Yup Olave was a JR 2020. The other 2 were already SR 2020. I agree ETN was probably just a case of Meyer.

It's definitely possible that Tate surpasses him next year.

That said, if Egubka slipped to the late 2nd-3rd round (which seems realistic), then he's not risking anything here and may have an NIL package paying him just as much.

If he balls out next year, then he could be a R1 guy in a weaker WR class.

Egbuka staying made sense to me. Henderson’s decision will be far more interesting to me

Apparently he's been going to classes and was the one pushing for Judkins so it's looking like he's not declaring.

I kind of love Dillon Johnson's game. For the older ones here, he reminds me of Fred Jackson from the Bills. Nobody praised any of his traits but he was an elite producer often times. I'm thinking he could hit 3rd to 5th round draft capital. I don't see a team chasing him earlier than that but you never know.
